A little porch rebuild completed last weekend. The original porch had no lintel over the meter box. The stonework was built straight on top of it. The stonework was all cracked and had moved. The whole porch used to wobble when the door was closed. We took it down and disposed of the old. Rebuilt it with additional piers internally for added structural support and of course, installed a lintel over the meter box! Baker Roofing took care of the roof and guttering 👌👌

For those of you that know and for those of you that doesn’t. The far superior trowel I’ve ever used. This is my second one and the first one lasted 3 years. The only reason for this one is because my usual one had a crack in it from where I was banging the blade flat against a stack of blocks the other day after stupidly not cleaning it

So I’d taken on a renovation project for a property resale. The specs of the work is 2 bathroom rip outs and refits. 1 cloak room bathroom rip out and refit. Kitchen ceiling re-board and skimmed with added spot lights and a tiled floor. Additional pipeork added for a dishwasher. As it happens, I took this project on and then was given the opportunity to build houses for a big contractor. So to keep the wheels turning and the team in work I’ve been doing the double shift. Building houses in the day and doing this project at night. At times I’ve worked until 12am and nearly every weekend since new year 😫. I have more pictures than this but here are the two upstairs bathrooms as a little update on what I’ve been up to. Putting my plumbing qualification to use and even got the plastering trowel out for the walls with the vinyl panels on for the shower enclosure. I’ve had Tony Kearns in for the rest of the plastering and Aaron Kinsella for my electrics.

These are the few plots that we have started to build in blunsdon. They’re all next to each other so we will name this “millionaires row” haha. Recently we’ve been doing a mixture of house building and footings. It’s nice to be able to have variety. Lovely bit of brickwork.

Another footing completed earlier in the week. 💪

A 6 course footing done today! 6 courses is deep for a footing. There will be a lot of made up ground in this area. Granted, footings are not glamorous to look at but it is hard graft to say the least and it has to be right!

So we haven’t posted anything for a little while. We’ve been building a few Houses in Blunsdon which can take a little while from start to finish. But here is a triple plot footing we’ve squeezed in between.
