Renovation:
Old buildings may require refurbishment to give a sound surface for decorating. Depending on the age of the building, work will be carried out under the guidance of local conservation and planning departments using traditional methods. Surfaces covered: walls, ceilings
New builds:
We apply finishes to new walls using gypsum based plasters onto brick/block walls or ‘dot & dab’ techni
ques using plasterboard. We always chose the best process for the specific project, which will be agreed with the customer beforehand. Surfaces covered: walls, ceilings
Rendering:
This is the application of either gypsum based plaster or a sand & cement mixture to brick / block walls. Surfaces covered: walls
Skimming:
Topcoat plaster is applied to finish plasterboard, rendered walls or existing walls (once sealed) providing a smooth, seamless surface ready to receive decorative treatment using wallpaper or paint. Skimming is an easy, cost effective way of covering cracked / un-sound surfaces ready for decorating. Surfaces covered: walls, ceilings
Decorative finish – coving, cornice, corbel / console:
Using traditional skills to complement your building's architecture, we can put in a new instalment or repair existing coving and cornices. This is a highly skilled technique which we have developed over number of years. Due to their nature, we always install new corbels. Surfaces covered: walls, ceilings
Artexing
We're usually asked for most artexing styles/patterns to go on ceilings, but still also asked for walls as well. If you already have an artexing pattern on your ceilings or walls, we can re-skim the surfaces first and then apply your new chosen style/pattern of artex. If your ceiling has cracks or imperfections, artex is a great way to smarten up your ceiling. There are many designs to choose from, comb finishes to very subtle textures.
