There are 4 hidden drawers in this wall… can you spot them? 👀
This Cotswolds home had a very specific idea for a feature wall — reclaimed timber, a herringbone pattern and, most importantly, storage that you wouldn’t know was there.
We sourced reclaimed floorboards from in Devizes and machined every board to the same length and width, while deliberately keeping the different thicknesses to add texture and character.
The boards were then individually laid into a herringbone design, with the pattern carefully centred on the room. That might sound like a small detail, but getting the centre point right was one of the most important parts of the whole installation.
And hidden amongst all that reclaimed timber?
4 flush, semi-hidden push-to-open drawers.
No handles. No obvious lines. Just a gentle push and they open — perfect for keeping the TV remotes and kids' toys tucked away.
We built the wall, made the drawer boxes and fitted the push-to-open drawers using GRASS runners from . The goal was simple: make the storage blend into the wall rather than become part of it.
The reclaimed boards have been left completely natural, allowing all the original colour, marks and character to do the talking.
The result is a completely bespoke feature wall that looks great, works brilliantly and has a few secrets hiding in plain sight. 🔨
Would you have spotted all 4 drawers? 👀
