OLD MEETS NEW.

There’s something special about seeing the original fabric of a building sitting alongside everything being built for its future.

At Out of Town Close, parts of the former pub are being carefully retained while the building around them is being completely rebuilt to modern standards.

New structure. New insulation. New services. New homes.

But with a little of the history still visible beneath it all.

A small milestone, but a rather special one for The Out of Town.

Our development has now been officially registered as:

DE5 3XT

What makes it particularly unique is that this brand-new postcode has been created for just the four homes within our development.

That means the future owners of Plots 1–4 won’t just be moving into a new home — they’ll be the very first residents to call DE5 3XT home.

OLD MEETS NEW 🏡

A major milestone at Out of Town Close

This is an important week for Plots 1 & 2, as the new roof structure on the former Out of Town pub moves towards completion.

These photographs capture something we particularly like about this development — the point where the old building meets the new.

Behind the original brickwork, an extensive transformation is taking place. New structural elements, new roof construction, insulation and modern building methods are being carefully incorporated into the existing building as we turn what had become a derelict former pub into two individual three-bedroom homes built to modern new-build standards.

We could have demolished everything and started again.

Instead, we wanted to retain part of the history and character of the old Out of Town, while creating homes designed for the way people want to live today.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but completing the roof structure is a significant moment — and for the first time you can really begin to see these two homes taking shape.

From construction… to the vision… to home. 🏡

The master bedrooms in Plots 1 & 2 at Out of Town are really beginning to take shape.

The first image shows where we are today — the structure, roof and space coming together. The next two show our vision for the finished room: a bright, contemporary bedroom by day, becoming a warm and relaxing retreat as evening falls.

It’s exciting to see what started on a drawing slowly becoming a home.

FROM TIMBER & BLOCKWORK… TO THIS. 🏡✨

It can be difficult to imagine the finished space when all you can see is bare blockwork, roof timbers and a concrete floor — so we thought we’d show you what we see.

These three images take you through the vision for the master bedrooms in Plots 1 & 2 at Out of Town:

🌙 At dusk — a peaceful retreat to close the door on the day and unwind.

We’re not simply thinking about how these homes will look when they’re finished. We’re thinking about how they’ll feel to live in.

And with the bedrooms now physically taking shape, that vision is getting closer to reality.
