On a well earned break for a fortnight. 1st stop RHS Bridgewater.. what a brilliant place. Lots of inspiring garden designs and amazing hard landscaping with a focus on natural materials and their forms. Could have spent much longer here, heartily recommend & well worth a visit.

Patio & decking reclamation today with help from Morgan Stroud Gardening Services. Took a bit longer than anticipated as we didn't want to leave willow and bramble roots coming up through the patio. Thankfully the patio was dry laid (no mortar, just sharp sand) so we were able to do this without too much hassle. Satisfying bit of graft 💪 plus we had a small bonus from our customer which was very much appreciated 👏

Its been a very busy summer.. I've not stopped, its been great. For last three days I've been clearing a very overgrown, overshadowed, choked up fish pond (no fish but a few frogs present) into a wildlife pond. Initially I was asked just to clear it but as things often do, the mission changes when things open up and the imagination can play. When diary allows I'll be returning to finish up the pond, create a stone terrace and border then plant it all up, I'll try to remember to do another post when complete - I'm pretty rubbish at Facebook stuff 🤔

It's not all enjoy tending plants. It's about creating places for them live too.. This project was started (footing dug and laid) over a year ago. My customer had other things to attend too since but had me back this week to do a bit more on it. Stone faced border, stones are tricky to work with due to their very random shapes and sizes but I (and my customer) think the finish is good. 4 days has made quite a difference, back in late September now as my bookings allow.

This week I went to one of my favourite places Carrie's Garden :) I helped her out by doing a bit of ladder work and ivy removal. Carrie has a great garden hosting such plant diversity and a personal knowledge of all her plants, she's developed the garden you can see in the photos by herself - it's amazing. She's keen to invite you into her garden for a look around and if there are particular plants you fancy it's likely you'll be able to buy them as there's quite a selection up for sale at very reasonable prices.
