How much does it REALLY cost to run a hot tub? ⚡💷

One of the biggest questions we get asked is how much electricity a hot tub uses — so we’ve been collecting real energy consumption figures from our Equinox hot tubs.

In this video, we’re breaking down the electricity used and estimated running costs over a full 7-day period during September/October.

No guesswork or manufacturer estimates — just figures from our own testing.

Of course, running costs will vary depending on outdoor temperatures, electricity tariffs, water temperature, usage and other factors.

Would these running costs surprise you? 👀

💷 **How much should a hot tub actually cost to run?**

We’re putting the numbers to the test.

During **October 2026**, we’ve been testing our Equinox hot tubs **outside in real UK conditions**, measuring the energy required to maintain their temperature rather than relying purely on theoretical calculations.

At around **7 kWh per day**, that works out at approximately **£1.83 per day** based on an electricity rate of **26.11p/kWh**.

That’s real-world outdoor testing designed to give customers a much clearer idea of what owning an efficient hot tub could actually cost.

*Actual running costs will vary depending on electricity tariff, weather, set temperature, usage, cover use and installation.*
