Not everybody is familiar with the process of street lighting design, so let's try to help out!
We take a DWG (or sometimes PDF) plan and import it into our lighting design software (main image), we add measurement planes (image with yellow highlights) and then we add our streetlights and hit "calculate" to provide our clients with results, in the form of tabular and isoline outputs (image with lots of squiggles in the yellow bits).
That's basically how we get to determine how many lights we need to illuminate the site to the required levels, as set by the current standards / guidelines. For example, this site was 350m x 100m and we used 30 columns - 12 on the spine road and 18 for all the cul-de-sac parking zones.
Most clients only ever see the start and end of the process and not the dozens of iterations to determine spacings, locations, dimming settings, compliance with environment regs, etc.
We're very successful with our designs and the post installation result verifications which is why we are happy to offer the service to all our clients.
We can also offer a site comparison for you, so you can compare a recent, or preferably future site install costs / estimates with our solution - it can be quite illuminating!
