Great to see this former Goals site development taking shape in Hull!

The portal shed is progressing well, with the project on track for handover at the end of the year.

BDN has provided architectural, structural and civil engineering services, working closely with developer Ashcourt Group to bring the project to life.

It’s always rewarding to see a project progress from design through to construction, and we’re looking forward to seeing the final stages come together.

Another fantastic project delivered for Sunderland AFC.

This summer, BDN acted as Project Manager for the refurbishment of the First Team changing and social spaces, helping to get the facilities ready ahead of the club’s Premier League and European campaign.

Working within an elite sporting environment brought a unique set of challenges, with a demanding programme, live operational requirements and the added complexity of a summer featuring a World Cup. Through careful planning, co-ordination and phased handovers, we were able to maintain the club’s operations while progressively returning completed areas to the First Team.

We’re proud to have been part of the team delivering the refurbishment and demonstrating how collaborative project management can meet challenging deadlines without compromising on quality.

We recently welcomed Barrow and Furness MP Michelle Scrogham to the Old Police Station!

During her visit, Michelle had the opportunity to see the work in progress here in Ulverston and hear more about our plans to breathe new life into the distinctive building which has stood vacant for more than a decade.

As the building begins to take shape, it was great to give Michelle a tour of the site and share our vision for a new mixed-use destination which combines workspace, short-stay accommodation and eventually, new places to eat, drink and spend time.

Thanks for stopping by, Michelle!

Project progress 🏗️

It’s great to see the Growing Futures development for the North East Autism Society continuing to take shape.

With all three main structures now up, work is progressing well on site as the buildings are made watertight ahead of the internal fit-out in the coming months.

We’re proud to be part of the team helping bring this £4.9m development to life alongside Mulberry Construction Group and Turner & Townsend.

Greggs signs up for Eastgate Point! 🥐

We’re delighted to welcome Greggs to Eastgate Point, with the North East food-on-the-go retailer set to open a new drive-to location at the £15m Sunderland development.

The new site will create 12 jobs and provide a convenient food and coffee offering for businesses based at Eastgate Point, as well as residents, commuters and visitors travelling through the area.

Eastgate Point is delivering 125,000 sq ft of new commercial accommodation across 19 industrial and commercial units, with Gentoo and BDN already committed to the development.

As project architects, structural and civil engineers and project managers, it’s fantastic to see the scheme taking shape and welcoming its first occupiers.

With further announcements to come, there’s plenty more to look forward to at Eastgate Point.

Creating space for the next generation! 📐

We’re delighted to have overseen a programme of improvement works at Wingate’s St Mary’s Catholic Primary School on behalf of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust.

The works include a new extension providing additional nursery provision, alongside refurbishment and improvements to the existing school, creating high-quality, flexible spaces for pupils and staff.

The project is also the latest chapter in our long-standing relationship with Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust. From architecture and structural/civil engineering to project management, we’ve supported the Trust on a number of projects across its estate.

It’s great to see another project taking shape and to continue playing our part in creating environments that support the Trust’s vision for delivering the best possible learning environments!

We have provided Project Management, engineering works and Architectural services across a range of projects, supporting the club as it continues to enhance facilities throughout the Stadium of Light. This has included improvements to The Players Lounge, the home dressing room and dugouts.

It has been fantastic to see the work come together over such an ambitious summer, made possible through a collaborative effort from everyone involved. We’re looking forward to seeing these spaces brought to life and enjoyed throughout what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

Work is now underway on an important expansion project that will help secure the future of Veterans In Crisis Sunderland and the vital support it provides to the veteran community.

BDN is supporting the transformation of the charity’s Sunderland head office on Roker Avenue, providing architectural, structural, civil engineering and project management expertise as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering social value across the North East.

The new fully accessible extension will create a welcoming space for veterans and their families, improving accessibility while allowing Veterans in Crisis to expand its range of services, including wellbeing activities, community events and practical support.

It’s fantastic to see this project move into the construction phase, and we look forward to watching the new space take shape over the coming months.
