🚨 A simple low-pressure fault turned into a potentially life-threatening discovery. 🚨
I was recently called out to a boiler with what seemed like a straightforward low-pressure issue. While on site, I carried out the usual safety checks as part of my visit—and I’m glad I did.
Behind the burner door, I found that the burner gasket had completely deteriorated. This meant the boiler was no longer properly sealed, allowing dangerous combustion gases to spill into the boiler casing.
If this had gone unnoticed, it could have led to:
⚠️ Serious damage to the boiler, with flames escaping and causing internal destruction.
⚠️ A potentially dangerous carbon monoxide leak, putting the occupants at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
This is exactly why regular boiler servicing is so important. You simply don’t know what’s happening inside your boiler until it’s opened up and properly inspected. A boiler can appear to be working perfectly while hiding a serious safety issue.
Don’t wait until something goes wrong. A routine service helps keep your boiler running safely, efficiently, and can identify problems before they become expensive—or dangerous.
