EVER WONDERED HOW A CONCEPT COMES TO LIFE?

Every great construction project starts with a vision, but how do you turn an idea on paper into something you can actually see?

For our Cleadon project, we've been working alongside Neil from North East Architectural Services to bring the architectural drawings to life through detailed 3D visualisation.

This allows us to explore the design, understand how the different elements come together and give a clearer picture of the finished property before construction begins.

From initial concept to final construction, collaboration is key to delivering a successful project.

Take a look at the video to see the vision for our Cleadon project come to life.

RESTORING, REBUILDING, MOVING FORWARD.

Work is now underway on our latest restoration project, following extensive damage to a building caused by a vehicle collision.

Working alongside Aspray Tyne & Wear, the MES Construction team has begun the process of restoring the property, addressing the damage and carrying out the necessary building works to bring it back to its former condition.

Projects like this require careful planning, skilled workmanship and attention to detail to ensure the building is restored safely and to a high standard.

We're pleased to be working collaboratively with Aspray Tyne & Wear on this project and look forward to sharing updates as the restoration progresses.

The darker evenings are setting in, and we’re quite ready for them. Low lights, a table by the window and a cocktail in hand. So, a question for you if you could put your dream Autumn cocktail on the menu, what would it be? Spiced, smoky, sharp, warming, unexpected… tell us what you’d order.

We’ll be reading the comments 🎃✨

A fire door does more than stop fire.

Most people understand the basic purpose of a fire door, but there are several important functions that are often overlooked.

Containing fire:
Fire doors are designed to resist the spread of fire for a specified period, helping to contain it within one area of a building.

Restricting smoke:
Where smoke control is required, correctly specified seals can help restrict the passage of smoke into adjoining areas and protected routes.

Protecting escape routes:
Fire doors play an important role in protecting corridors, stairwells and other escape routes, giving occupants valuable time to leave the building safely.

Maintaining compartmentation:
A fire door forms part of the building’s wider passive fire protection system. If it is damaged, incorrectly installed or unable to close properly, that compartmentation can be compromised.

Supporting emergency response:
By helping to contain fire and smoke, fire doors can also support safer access and movement for emergency services.

And importantly, it isn’t just the door itself that matters.

The frame, gaps, hinges, closer, seals, glazing and ironmongery all contribute to whether a fire doorset can perform as intended.

MES Construction provides fire door installation, inspection, maintenance and remedial works for commercial and industrial premises.

A fire door isn’t simply a door. It is an integral part of a building’s fire safety strategy.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY TURNKEY?

It’s a term you’ll often hear in construction, but what does turnkey actually mean for an MES Construction client?

Put simply, we take care of the project from start to finish.

Rather than managing multiple contractors, trades and suppliers yourself, MES can provide a single point of responsibility throughout the project.

From the initial planning and preparation through to groundworks, construction, specialist works and the finishing stages, we coordinate the people, programme and delivery needed to get the job completed.

For our clients, that means:

• One contractor managing the project
• One point of contact
• Trades and stages properly coordinated
• Less time spent managing different contractors
• Clear accountability throughout
• A completed project ready for its intended use

That’s the idea behind turnkey delivery. You bring us the project, and we manage the process required to turn that brief into a completed space.

For commercial, industrial and development projects across the North East and beyond, speak to MES Construction about how we can support your next project.
