What a job to kick off the new year with! Lovely Leylandii hedge given a much needed haircut.
Leylandii doesn't grow in the same way as other common hedging trees like Ligistrum or Buxus, and cutting the "main stems" wont re-grow like other trees will. This is why the top is slightly more ragged than I would Ideally like. It was topped to encourage lateral growth as opposed to vertical, and after a few more cuts the top will be as crisp as the sides. Pleased with the results considering it hasn't been cut in a few years!
