Our local heron has come back to say hello this morning! (dont think the crows were impressed!)

We are absolutely amazed how we have managed to attract so much wildlife within and around our relatively small garden.

- Yesterday we found a large hedgehog in our boat shed 🦔left him napping there
- The dragon flies and bees have been flying around our pond and garden all summer 🐝
- Our resident pond fish have been busy multiplying (they are well netted from the heron!) 🐠
- Lots of small birds(whose names i don't yet know!) coming and going 🐦
- Slow worms spotted on our very nearby allotment 🪱

Works are progressing well in Minch, just look at the gorgeous autumn morning natural light coming through the new glazing and all the shadows of the trees and leavess moving in the wind..😍

We all know how important natural light is to our mood and a must to fight SAD, 💪so we always try and bring it in thoughtfully without overheating the building, and of course, enhancing the spaces with carefully placed crafted lights. First wall lights and sockets being installed as we speak too!

Bespoke glazing vs a standard conservatory — and why our project shows the difference.

Here, every line of glass was collaboratively designed with the glaziers around the home: the orientation, the garden views, the way natural light moves through the space, and how the clients actually live day‑to‑day. We shaped the proportions, controlled solar gain, and created a connection to the outdoors that feels effortless.

🏗️ Site Progress Update

✔️ Demolition complete
✔️ Foundations and services channels dug out
✔️ Raft slab fully tied and poured
✔️ Steel reinforcement in place
➡️ Ready for shuttering to be formed for the new concrete retaining walls on this rear extension in Minchinhampton.

It’s always satisfying to see things coming together on site. Groundworks on this one have been tricky with tight access/waste removal, but the team are doing a great job navigating it and keeping everything moving.

There’s a huge amount of unseen effort (and money!) behind groundworks — but it is the kind of work that quietly sets the foundations for a good build.
