Stratford Town Youth U11’s was delighted to welcome Chris Rowberry from Hatton Electrical Wholesale and thank him for their generous sponsorship of the team’s kit for this season and show him the team’s collection of trophies.

Tim Green the manager of the team said “The lads have been so excited to get their new kits this season, they look up to the first team players and love the fact they are playing in the same kit as them. We are very grateful to Hatton for their sponsorship, it helps massively to the running of team to ensure we can give the lads all the kit they need for the season ahead. Tim continued I am extremely proud of this team, they have been together since under 8’s and have shown impressive progress through the age groups. They are a brilliant bunch with a massive desire to improve all the time and it has led them to have a really successful summer picking up 3 trophy wins, this was just rewards for the hard work they put in and continue to do so.”

Chris commented “As local business we are proud to sponsor one of the Stratford Youth teams and it’s great to see the talent they have on display, I’m sure we will see some of them wearing 1st team colours in the future. Coming up today it was great to see the buzz around the club and all the kids involved playing football with big smiles on their faces.”

Stratford Town are delighted to announce the signing of the vastly experienced centre half Liam Daly .

Bards Manager Gavin Hurren says the capture of the 35-year-old defender from Rushall Olympic will be ‘huge’ and chairman Jed McCrory described it as a “cracking signing” as Stratford Town look to build on their excellent final months of last season.

Daly says it was a ‘no-brainer’ to sign for Town, having worked with Hurren for a spell at Stourbridge alongside Lee Vaughan and having known McCrory at Solihull Moors.

“I knew Gav from my time at Stourbridge with Mark Yates where Gav was No 2. And I’m good friends with Lee Vaughan,” he said. “Him (Lee) and Gav speak a lot and between them they said ‘we could do with another vocal character, someone with experience’ and that’s something I bring, lots of experience.

“They gave me a phone call and it was a no-brainer. It’s a lovely little club and it's trying to go in the right direction. I’ve known Jed as well from my time at Solihull and it just fitted really. I’ve had a couple of other calls over the summer but once I’d agreed with Gav, it shut the door on anything else.”

Centre-back Daly helped Rushall win promotion to the National League North last term, having also won the Southern Premier title with Leamington and the Conference North crown with Moors.

“One of the biggest parts in football that I’ve found over the years is if you’ve got a happy changing room and everyone is singing off the same page you’ll be more successful,” he said. “If you're all in it together you're only going to go one way.

“It was like that at Rushall last season and it was a massive part of the success. Every time we went out and played a game we always thought we could win and that dragged us through.

“When I was in the side with Solihull when we won the National League North we had a great bunch of lads and never any issues and everyone was there for each other.”

Gav said, “Liam’s signing is huge. He’s very experienced and will bring bags of experience to the dressing room,” he added. “ He’s great at being able to talk to players and will be a big help with the younger players.”

Jed added: “I know him from Solihull and he’s well known around the Midlands. He’s a big physical presence, a dominant centre-half and he’s determined to get fit and he wants to come back and enjoy his football and it seems down here at Stratford Town a lot of people are now coming down and enjoying the football.”

HATTON ELECTRICAL WHOLESALE ANNOUNCE FORK AMNESTY

It causes me huge concern to inform you that we have a fork thief in our midst.
As you’re probably aware we have been offering free Pot Noodles to our customers for some time now. Tragically, this kindness has led to our cutlery being stolen.
Police reports suggest that this is not gang related but they are not ruling anything out at this point. The knowledge that somewhere in the sleepy, picturesque town of Stratford upon Avon there lurks a flatware fiend is unsettling for us all.
After calling 999 I asked them if they thought it was a serial offender but they believe it’s more likely to be lunches.
If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of the TCFB (Trade Counter Fork Bandit) please come forkward.

If you have been on our trade counter then you are aware that it was already a hard enough task to get the Hatton team to eat without spilling food down themselves. It’s near enough impossible now that they are without the right tools.
Whilst some might think this is a victimless crime, they are not the ones who have to watch Josh trying to eat last night’s spaghetti with two knifes.

With this is mind, we would like to announce that the week commencing 17th January will be Fork Amnesty Week at Hatton Electrical Wholesale Ltd.
If anyone would like to return a fork that they have stolen from our kitchen please do so next week and we assure you that no further action will be taken or prejudices held. We just want to be able to eat lunch normally again and move on.
In the meantime, please keep a close eye on the silverware.

Fantastic day yesterday courtesy of all at Stratford Town FC. Shame about the result but reaching the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup is a fantastic achievement. Thanks Jed, Steve, Paul and to all involved.
