A little before & after of an installation at a local football team. ⚽️

The previous electrician installed the cable by laying it on the grass so it eventually got chewed up be the strimmer! The connection boxes were also in poor condition. ‼️

We installed a new armoured cable run to replace the damaged section, this time on the wall up and away from trouble. We also replaced the connection boxes for rotary isolators so all lights can be isolated individually in future.

This was a cracking job to be involved in, a full electrical rewire was carried out to this property following some pretty nasty flood damage. 🤢

We recently installed a GivEnergy All-In-One 13.5kWh battery storage system to work seamlessly alongside their existing solar pv system.

The pre-existing solar pv was installed back in the FiT tariff days meaning we couldn’t alter the system in anyway. So along with the client we decided to retrofit an AC Coupled battery which could still charge off the excess solar generation.

Alongside the battery, we installed a GivEnergy Gateway which will provide their home with full-home backup in the event of a power outage and a GivEnergy EV charger.

🔋 🔋 This is HUGE!! 🔋 🔋

As part of the new community resilience plan at Strachan, we recently installed a massive 57kWh GivEnergy system.

This system, designed in collaboration with Feughside Community Council, has the ability to power the essential circuits within the local village hall for a period of upto FIVE days in power cut conditions.

For a community that suffers so frequently with power cuts, this is a game changer.

We utilised the GivEnergy ecosystems scale-ability to allow us to back-up each phase with 28.5kWh of storage. If required, the option is there to add a further 38kWh of storage in the future.

We built a customised barrier in front of the system to prevent any potential damage caused by moving the furniture around the store room.

“How much is do solar panels cost?” ☀️⚡️

A typical home will fit 10-12 panels which will give you a peak production of 4kW. These installations generally start at around £6k. This gives an average annual return on the investment of 8-12% – higher than most savings accounts with a safe, guaranteed return. On top of that you’ll also save a massive 2.4 tonnes of CO2 per year.

With advances in solar storage, the savings and grid independence are increasing too. If you have an immersion heater you could generate a further £100-£200/year in savings using a solar diverter. Add a battery storage for further self consumption and independence from the grid equalling higher savings on your bill.

A little before and after of a recent facelift we gave this solar installation. ☀️

As the inverters were coming to the end of their working life, we replaced them with a more efficient Solis model. This tidied up the installation by combining all solar strings into the one inverter which should allow a slight increase in generation. It’s also been set up to allow remote access and monitoring for the client, a function that the previous inverters didn’t offer.

Earlier this month we were asked by Mr & Mrs S to incorporate a battery storage system into their existing solar system. As they worked during the day, they wanted to store the power generated during the day instead of exporting most of it for pennies.

After discussions and a site survey, it was deemed that changing the inverter to a hybrid and installing a modular battery system was the best option. This allows them to increase the storage capacity in the future if budget allows.
