It’s garden lighting season, now the sunshine has finally come to the party it’s time to get your garden glow up. For some inspiration this was a project over in Shropshire which was recently completed.

Literally a shocker!
This installation was well overdue some attention, a very messy, congested consumer unit with a mismatch of circuit protection devices, not to mention the spaghetti of unsupported cables and supply tails located in this under stairs cupboard, accident waiting to happen. Fortunately a lot safer now.

Consumer unit upgrade install and new electric shower circuit in Eccleshall. The original board required replacement due to lack of RCD protection, inadequate meter tails, main earth and protective bonds to gas and water service. All of which have been replaced to current standard. Each circuit has individual RCD protection via RCBO’s & surge protection incorporated into the consumer unit. Spare capacity for any future circuits required-EV car charger etc. The previous board was located high against the ceiling, we’ve lowered the new board to a more accessible position which is far better for the homeowner in the event of a fault to reset RCBO’s without having to climb a step ladder.

TT supply, 100A/100mA time delayed RCD Main switch, RCBO protected smoke detector circuit, remaining circuits split load to avoid loosing all power and lighting circuits in a fault condition
