In a world of grey, black and white… are you brave enough to add a bit of colour to the outside of your home?

Today we’re unboxing an Andersen EV in Racing Green with a Windsor Grey front. It’s a combination you don’t see every day, and that’s part of the appeal of a charger with a choice of finishes.

When a charger is going on the outside of your home, colour and appearance can matter just as much as convenience.

Your EV charger's dead. The warranty's gone. Now what? 😬

That's exactly where this customer found himself.

His existing Pod Point had developed a fault and it was time to decide: Repair it with no warranty cover… or replace it? He decided he'd rather put the money towards an upgrade.

We stripped it off the wall, gave it a proper clean down, and fitted the Andersen Quartz untethered in Midnight Black instead.

Over 120 colour options if you want it, metallic finish instead of plastic, and a halo light at the base so it's visible at night.

The real win though: 7 years warranty. That's 7 years where if anything goes wrong, it's not coming out of your pocket. Compact, premium, and built to actually stand behind its promise. And of course, it's a pass ✅

The detail most electricians skip…and why it matters

Fitted this Ohme Home Pro straight into the garage with the consumer unit tucked out of sight, which meant working around an awkward meter box just to get the screws in.

But here's the bit people don't think about: I didn't cut the fly lead short.

Why? Because if this customer ever wants to move the charger, new car, new spot on the wall, whatever, he's not stuck with a lead that's too short to reach.

A small decision now, saves a headache later.

Clean install, everything tested, customer delighted.

Some installs test your patience before they test your skills 😅

This was a proper loft job, running cable from one end to the other through a tight, awkward space…

Could've crawled through it myself, but the customer jumped in to help run it through, which made the whole thing smoother and honestly more enjoyable.

That's the kind of job I love! working with the customer, not just for them.

Yesterday was a good one! ⚡🙌

Great to spend the day at Andersen EV HQ for their Affiliate Day! meeting the team behind the brand, getting a look around the factory and hearing more about what’s coming next.

As installers, we normally only see the finished charger arriving on site, so seeing what goes on behind the scenes was pretty cool 👀

Plenty of good conversations, ideas shared and a few things to take back to Electrics and More as we continue growing the EV side of the business.

Thanks to the Andersen team for having us! and great to meet some of the other installers in the network too! 🤝⚡
