As The Phoenix Group continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Group Finance Manager to join our team and work closely with the Group Finance Director.

This is a key leadership role, helping to strengthen financial controls, develop the finance function and support the integration of future acquisitions across the Group. The role is hybrid, based across our Stoke-on-Trent Head Office, Oldbury office and regional hubs, with a salary of £70,000 plus car allowance and benefits.

Our maintenance engineers from our Phoenix Gas Services division have been sharpening their skills recently with two fantastic joint training sessions delivered by GRUNDFOS and Kane International Limited.

The team gained further insight into the Grundfos UPS4GO and ALPHA2GO, alongside practical guidance from Kane on its app and simple analyser fixes and repairs.

A great opportunity to build knowledge, share expertise and support our engineers in the field — with a pub lunch thrown in too!

👏Congratulations to Tunstall-based Phoenix Gas Services after the team landed a prestigious award. The firm, founded in 1994, picked up the Heating Contractor of the Year accolade at the ASCP26 Safety and Compliance Awards.

🔥 Gas Safety Week 2026 — Do You Know Your Rights?

As a tenant, your safety comes first. Your landlord or housing provider must arrange a gas safety check every 12 months on relevant gas appliances and flues, carried out by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

You should also receive a copy of the current Gas Safety Record — normally within 28 days of the check, or before moving into a new tenancy.

If you haven't received your Gas Safety Record, ask your landlord, local authority or housing association for a copy.

If you don't have a current record and your landlord or agent doesn't provide one, you can notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) using their LGSR1 reporting form

Take No Chances with Carbon Monoxide

This Gas Safety Week, we're supporting the campaign by highlighting one of the most important aspects of gas safety: carbon monoxide (CO) awareness.

Here’s an important fact that everyone should know: Carbon monoxide has no taste, colour or smell — and it can make you seriously ill and kill quickly without warning.

So, what should you look out for?

- A floppy yellow or orange flame instead of a crisp blue flame
- Dark or sooty staining around gas appliances
- Increased condensation on windows
- A boiler pilot light that keeps going out

Symptoms of CO poisoning can include headaches, nausea, dizziness and breathlessness, as well as more serious symptoms such as collapse or unconsciousness.

Take no chances. Stay gas safe.

We’re absolutely over the moon to have won Heating Contractor of the Year at last night’s ASCP26 Awards in Cardiff.

Being nominated alongside some of the brilliant people and organisations we work alongside across the sector was a real honour in itself, but to actually come home with the award feels incredible.

This award means a lot to the whole team at Phoenix Gas Services. It’s recognition of the hard work, care and commitment that goes into what we do every day, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who has played a part in getting us here.

Congratulations to all the winners, highly commended and nominees. It was brilliant to spend an evening celebrating with so many of the people who are working hard to keep residents safe and raise standards across social housing compliance.

Talk about hitting the bullseye!

One of our Apprentices Louie was recently at college as part of his ACS studies, where a supplier day was taking place.

As part of the event, Louie stepped up to the oche and went head-to-head with professional darts player Mark Webster — and managed to take the win!

It’s fair to say Louie was on target, walking away with a fantastic prize: a DeWalt drill for his efforts.

A brilliant achievement Louie — looks like you’ve got a pretty good throwing arm as well as some great practical skills!
