Today is Restart a Heart Day.

A day dedicated to helping more people learn CPR and giving people the confidence to act when somebody suffers a cardiac arrest.

And while CPR is far more important than anything we maintain at Ignite, there's an interesting principle here for anyone responsible for a building.

Some things exist because one day you might desperately need them.

Emergency lighting is a perfect example.

Most days, nobody notices it.

Nobody walks through the office admiring the emergency lights.

⏱️ 30 SECONDS WITH IGNITE

Radiator warm at the bottom...

but cold at the top?

There's a good chance you've got trapped air inside it.

As air collects at the top of the radiator, hot water can't properly fill the whole thing.

The result?

🔥 Bottom warm

🥶 Top cold

Usually, bleeding the radiator releases the trapped air and allows hot water to circulate properly again.

But if you're repeatedly having to bleed radiators, losing boiler pressure or several radiators aren't heating properly...

there could be something else going on.

That's when it's worth getting the system checked.

⏱️ 30 SECONDS WITH IGNITE

You top up your boiler pressure.

A few days later...

It's dropped again.

So you top it up.

Again.

And again.

Sound familiar?

An occasional adjustment isn't necessarily cause for alarm, but repeatedly losing pressure isn't something to simply keep topping up and ignoring.
