Will it ever stop raining!! 🌧️☔️ here at Guest Bros we’ve been keeping busy!

We’ve recently completed this natural slate roof installation as part of a new extension on a property in Knutsford.

The priority on this project was ensuring the new roof tied seamlessly into the existing structure. Careful attention was given to slate size, colour variation, coursing lines, and overall detailing so the extension blends naturally with the original building.

Scope of works included:
• Installation of breathable roofing membrane
• New treated timber battens, set out to suit slate gauge
• Installation of a quality natural slate and velux window
• Precise setting out to maintain consistent headlap and alignment
• Dry fix ridge system and verges requiring zero maintenance
• Installation of new lead flashings at all abutments and junctions
• Secure mechanical fixing in line with current regulations.

Slate remains one of the most durable and long-lasting roofing materials available. When properly installed, it offers excellent weather resistance, strong wind performance, and a finish that will age naturally with the property.
