👏👏👏 Great work guys!

Great News! 🎉 Our Arts Council application was successful!

We're delighted to announce that we have been awarded a project grant from Arts Council England!

This will fund our ‘Bold Futures’ project which will enable us to deliver ‘The Winter Gathering’ in Longton Park - a free, spectacular pre-Christmas event with live music, parade and light installations.

👫 Opportunities for young people!
We will also be providing opportunities for young people aged 11 - 25 to develop creative and production skills and experience through masterclasses, work placements and mentoring opportunities. We’re so excited to get started with this brilliant project, thanks to the Arts Council. Stay tuned for updates!

🟢⚫️ A media wall completed earlier this month. The customer impressively built this all himself. We just added the finishing touches, including picture frame lighting to illuminate behind the TV. The end result is stunning as I’m sure you will all agree! 🟢⚫️

🚩 Public Service Post 🚩

Today’s job was a call out to a house where half the sockets had stopped working.

This is what we managed to pull out of the wall.

Customer had put a picture up on the wall 2-3 weeks ago and hit one of the socket cables. Everything worked fine after they changed the fuse so they filled the hole and left it.

The damaged cable had been steadily arcing in the wall until eventually degrading enough to break, taking out half the sockets. Not only could this quite easily have resulted in a fire, the induced voltage onto the earth wire was leading to shocks from any metallic appliances plugged into the circuit.

🟢 Avoid drilling holes or hammering in nails in “electric safe zones”
🟢 If you do hit a cable, whether it be in a safe zone or not, contact an electrician to test and safely repair. Just because it still works doesn’t mean it’s safe
🟢 Make sure your consumer unit (fuse board) is up to date and has RCD protection as a minimum

It’s very lucky that this didn’t result in something more serious.

Repair carried out and guidance given. Consumer unit replacement on the horizon.

Stay safe,

Lee, CES
