r similar properties, to see if it's energy efficient! You need to get an EPC as soon as you start to market your property 'for sale' or 'to rent'. You must get a qualified Energy Assessor such as us, to survey your property and produce the EPC. Getting an Energy Performance Certificate could also help you identify ways to save money on your energy bills and improve the comfort of your property. An Energy Performance Certificate has an easy to read multi coloured energy chart similar to those that are on new domestic appliances, such as fridges. They show you how energy efficient a property/building is and it has a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). EPC's also show you how costly it will be to heat and light your property, and what it's carbon dioxide emissions are likely to be. The EPC will also show what the energy-efficiency rating could be, if improvements are made and it highlights the cost-effective ways to achieve a better rating. Whether you rent or own your home/property, some improvements shown on the EPC may be worth implementing, such as installing an energy efficient boiler or switching to energy-efficient light bulbs, as it will save you money on your energy bills. EPC's are valid for 10 years from when they are issued. To find out more or if you require a quote, please give us a call on 01642 424555 or email [email protected]

Why do I need a Commercial EPC?

If you sell or lease a non-domestic property it is required to have a legal document called a commercial energy performance certificate which was introduced in 2007 by the government.

The detailed report talks about how energy efficient a commercial property is, and provides you with an energy rating from the most efficient being A, to G being the least efficient. If your building receives an energy rating of F or G, the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) legislation states it would be illegal to rent or lease the building.
