Warmflame Gas was founded by me, Mike Hertel in September 2009, after being in the Military (where i learnt my trade as a Plumber). As a business we have around 25 years experience in the domestic Heating and Plumbing market, and love to provide our customers with a reliable, quality and responsive service. We specialise in new gas boiler installations, boiler servicing and boiler repairs. We also undertake installation, maintenance and repair of ground source heat pumps.

It’s something we hope our customers never need, but knowing what to do could make a real difference.

If you smell gas or suspect a gas emergency:

🔴Stop using all gas appliances
🔴Turn off the gas supply at the meter, if it’s safe to do so
🔴Open windows
🔴Go outside
🔴Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999
🔴If anyone feels unwell, seek medical help

🏠 Gas Safety Week – Landlords & Tenants

If you’re a landlord, you have legal responsibilities when it comes to the gas safety of your rental property – including arranging the required annual gas safety check.

At Warmflame Gas, our engineers carry their Gas Safe ID at all times. You can and should ask to see it when they arrive at your home.

We carry out Landlord Gas Safety Checks for landlords across our local area, providing the required certification and digital records once completed.

Already have a certificate? Make a note of the expiry date so you can arrange the next check in plenty of time.

🔥 Gas Safety Week – Day 2: Carbon Monoxide Awareness

Carbon monoxide (CO) is known as the silent killer because you can’t see it, smell it or taste it.

One simple way to help protect your household is to have an audible carbon monoxide alarm fitted. Gas Safe recommends alarms marked BS EN 50291, which are designed to alert you if CO is detected.

It’s also important to check your existing CO alarms regularly and make sure they’re still within their recommended lifespan.

If you don’t currently have a CO alarm, or you’re unsure whether yours is suitable or correctly positioned, we’re always happy to advise.

🔥 You never stop learning…

We’ve been pretty busy behind the scenes at Warmflame Gas recently, and not just looking after boilers and heating systems!

We’re big believers that you should never stop learning and improving, no matter how long you’ve been in the trade.

Over the last few months we’ve completed asbestos awareness training, attended Worcester Bosch-specific boiler training and, most recently, our Director Mike has been back in the classroom completing his five-yearly gas qualification reassessments. 📚

It’s all part of keeping our knowledge up to date and making sure we continue to work safely and to a high standard.

Technology changes. Regulations change. Heating systems change.

So we keep learning too. 👍

Because ultimately, when you invite us into your home, we want you to have complete confidence that the person working on your heating system is properly trained, knowledgeable and takes their responsibilities seriously.

🔧 Do you actually know what happens during a boiler service?

Most people know they should have their boiler serviced every year...but very few know what that service may actually involve.

During every Warmflame boiler service, we carry out a thorough inspection, including:

✅ Checking the safety of the boiler
✅ Inspecting and cleaning internal components (where needed)
✅ Testing the flue and combustion performance using calibrated equipment
✅ Checking gas pressures and burner performance
✅ Inspecting seals, safety devices and electrical connections
✅ Looking for signs of leaks, corrosion or wear that could lead to future breakdowns
✅ Recording detailed readings and observations throughout the service

📸 We also take photographs inside your boiler and provide you with a comprehensive service report showing exactly what we've found, along with all the test readings and any recommendations.

🦸🏻Not all heroes wear capes…some wear Gas Safe ID badges and carry tool bags.

We recently got called out to a slightly unusual job, a pigeon had managed to get itself stuck in a chimney behind a gas fire.

Not your everyday heating callout, but at Warmflame Gas we’re used to thinking on our feet.

Thanks to engineer Sam, the fire was made safe, the situation was carefully assessed, and the little feathered visitor was freed without causing any harm or damage in our customers home.

Another day, another unexpected rescue mission.

Whether it’s a boiler breakdown, a gas fire issue, a service, or the occasional pigeon rescue….we’re here to help.
