A garden built to remember. A garden cared for together.

Last year we had the privilege of building this memorial garden at Camphill, designed by Mark Boyd Mark Boyd

Today we returned, not as contractors, but as volunteers.

Working alongside Camphill residents and volunteers from TSB Bank, we spent the morning preparing the planting beds and getting the garden ready for the next stage of its life.

The original build brought together beautiful Caithness flagstone with whin cobbles recycled from the site, allowing materials already belonging to the landscape to become part of the new garden.

For us, projects like this are about much more than construction.

Returning a year later and seeing residents, businesses and volunteers working side by side is exactly what a community garden should be about. Built once, but cared for and enjoyed for years to come.

A very rewarding day and a reminder that sometimes the most valuable thing we can contribute is simply our time.

A revisit from the team today at our Linlithgow project, designed by Ryan at Musa Landscape & Architecture.

It’s incredible to see how this garden has evolved. Watching a space mature and continue to bring enjoyment every single day is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Today, Michael and Stevie connected the pipework for the new water rills. Once the rills are fully completed and the planting has established, we’ll return to install the final in-lite lighting, including Ace spotlights and Sway fixtures, adding another layer of atmosphere to this beautiful space.

Until then, enjoy this little moment of nature therapy. 🌿💧

What a fantastic weekend at Scone Palace Garden Fair.

It was a privilege to be part of the judging panel for both the Showcase Gardens and Small Space Gardens, seeing first-hand the creativity, passion and craftsmanship that went into each entry. From innovative design solutions to exceptional planting and hard landscaping, the standard was incredibly high.

What makes Scone Palace Garden Fair so special is that it is far more than a garden show. It provides a real springboard for gardeners of every kind—from experienced designers and professional growers to enthusiastic beginners and community gardeners. It’s a unique and valuable event for Scotland’s gardening community.

The weekend was also a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, make new connections and celebrate the talent within our industry.

A huge thank you to everyone involved—designers, contractors, growers, organisers and volunteers—for making the event such a success. I’m already looking forward to next year. 🌿

Our Lower Largo coastal project in collaboration with Joy Grey has now been planted, and the garden is truly coming to life.

This was one of those special projects where every detail mattered. From the challenging access and steep staircase, to moving machinery and materials safely into a land-locked garden, the build pushed our team creatively and technically from day one.

Using traditional Scottish stonework, black granite paving and setts, corten steel features and reclaimed yorkstone discovered on site, the space already had a strong architectural character — but the planting has completely softened and elevated it.

The new planting brings movement, texture and a relaxed coastal feel that sits beautifully within the surroundings of Lower Largo. The mix of soft greens, seasonal colour and naturalistic layers now balances the harder landscape materials perfectly and gives the garden a timeless feel.

Features throughout the garden include the full circular patio, bespoke whin stone bench seating formed from reclaimed kerbs, gravel lounging areas and handcrafted stonework, all carefully tied together through Joy’s thoughtful design.

A huge credit to everyone involved in bringing this unique coastal garden to life. We cannot wait to see it mature over the coming seasons.

Our most complex site yet in Linlithgow, delivered by Garradh Landscape & Design for landscape architect Ryan at Musa Landscape. MUSA Landscape Architecture

Installing the Schellevis steps, each weighing 185kg, was no small task with an access width of just 850mm to the back garden. Schellevis (UK)

To get the job done safely and precisely, Garradh Landscape & Design brought in a compact spider crane with a stone magnet, allowing each step to be lifted carefully into place and the staircase to be built one piece at a time.

We are incredibly proud of the team for tackling such a challenging project with a real can-do attitude, constant problem-solving, and plenty of brainstorming to find the right solution.
