New sandstone window sill installed . The old sill was broken due to iron bars and was carefully removed. A new sandstone sill was then traditionally dressed, shaped, and installed to match the character of the property. The work was completed using a traditional lime mortar, ensuring both durability and compatibility with the historic masonry while maintaining the building’s original appearance.

A short demonstration of the lime pointing scratch-back process. The mortar is first compacted using a stipple brush to ensure all joints are properly sealed and consolidated, before being lightly brushed back to remove residual dust and achieve a clean, consistent finish.

New maintenance project for us here at MMS . Kilns House situated in falkirk . Phase one completed . Area established for works were new boiler flues where the stones had to be rebuilt as they were removed to get the boiler in, general lime pointing works on defective areas around back garden area & some lime render around windows & rubble areas where the stones were badly weathered . Pigment to match original stone and add some additional brown to blend in with weathering & some stone indents on quoins installed tooled to match in with original stone work .

Emergency chimney repair was urgently required after we were called out by our colleagues at . While they were carrying out work on an adjacent property, they identified that the neighbouring chimney stack was in a dangerously unstable condition and at immediate risk of collapse.

Upon inspection, it was clear that prompt action was necessary to ensure the safety of the property and surrounding area. We proceeded with urgent stabilisation and repair works to secure the structure and prevent further deterioration.

The chimney was carefully rebuilt where necessary and finished using traditional lime mortar, with all pointing carried out to match original methods and ensure breathability and long-term durability.

New doorway formed out of an old window. This job was for our friends Chris Purdie joiners & builder ltd . We used Witton Fell Sand stone to match in with original stone work . The stone was dressed with droved tooling to match In with the building’s original architectural heritage.
