🏡🔨 NEW PROJECT | BROUGHTY FERRY

Chimney restoration project underway!

This time, we’re carrying out some much-needed maintenance to this chimney, starting with removing all the old, defective pointing before repointing with a compatible, like-for-like mortar to suit the existing masonry.

We’ll also be renewing the haunching around the chimney pots and replacing the missing pot. This is an important part of chimney maintenance, helping to secure the pots and prevent water getting into the brickwork and masonry below. 🌧️

Regular chimney maintenance is essential for protecting your property from water ingress, frost damage and further deterioration — helping keep your roofline in good condition for years to come.

Project Complete 🏡✨⚒️

Another property restored to its natural beauty!

For this project, we removed all the cement render and Linostone to expose the original natural stonework beneath. 🪨

We then carried out a gentle clean before repointing the masonry using a buff, colour-matched lime mortar to complement the existing stonework.

The finished result gives this property a fresh, clean appearance while preserving the character and charm of the original stone.

🏡 Restoration Project Completed! 🧱✨

Another great job completed, restoring the front elevation of this beautiful old property.

All defective pointing was carefully cut out, including previous cement pointing that had been covered with mastic. Once removed, the stonework was gently cleaned, leaving a sound, clean surface ready for repointing.

We finished the elevation using a colour-matched buff lime mortar, chosen to blend naturally with the existing stone and preserve the character of the building.

Attention to detail, the correct materials and traditional methods are key to achieving a lasting, sympathetic finish.

A great week of progress on this restoration project! 👌🏡

We’re cutting out all defective pointing across the front elevation, including areas where cement pointing had been applied and then covered over with mastic.

With all the defective material now removed, we’ve gently cleaned the stonework to remove loose debris and dirt before moving on to the next stage.

The elevation will now be repointed using a colour-matched buff lime mortar, chosen to complement the existing stonework and give the property a sympathetic finish.

Slowly bringing this beautiful old building back to life, the right way. 🧱✨

Marble Altar Table Relocation & Restoration

Another great marble project we’ve been proud to be involved in.

We carefully dismantled this beautiful marble altar table from its original position and rebuilt it 13 feet upstairs, exactly where the architect had originally intended it to sit.

The relocation required careful planning and precision, using scaffolding, block and tackle, lifting equipment and rails to safely manoeuvre the substantial marble table top into position.

As part of the rebuild, we also made a subtle but important design change. We repositioned the marble balusters further towards the sides, opening up the front of the altar and allowing the central XP/AΩ emblem to be seen much more clearly.

A challenging project, but a very rewarding one — combining traditional marble craftsmanship with careful modern lifting techniques.

Another beautiful marble project completed. 🛠️🏛️

New project in full swing

We’re stripping out and relocating this marble altar table from its current position on the lower platform, moving it upstairs to where the architect originally intended it to be.

We’ve successfully removed the old green marble from the top of the stairs and re polished the marble underneath and stripped the altar table, and we’re now working through the reinstatement.

A challenging project, but it’s great to see the original design intent starting to come back together. More to follow as we progress. 🛠️⛪️

PROJECT COMPLETE | TRADITIONAL STONE REPOINTING

Another one completed.

The old, defective mortar was carefully removed from the front elevation before the stonework was repointed using a colour-matched premixed lime mortar.

The mortar was matched to the existing stonework to keep the finished result looking natural and in keeping with the original character of the property.

A lot of care goes into this type of work, from the preparation right through to the finished pointing, and we’re really pleased with how this one has turned out.

Another traditional property brought back into shape with the right materials and a bit of attention to detail.

Cement out. Lime in. Transformation complete.

We’re delighted to share the completion of another specialist conservation project.

All cement mortar has now been carefully removed, with both the front elevation and gable end fully repointed using traditional lime mortar. The transformation is clear, restoring the character of the building while allowing the masonry to breathe as it was originally intended.

From removing inappropriate modern materials to reinstating traditional methods, every stage has been carried out with care, precision and respect for the property.

No cosmetic fixes. No compromises. Just the right materials, the right methods, attention to detail, and the commitment every period property deserves.

Another project completed the right way — built to last, breathe and preserve the character of the building for years to come.

🚧 NEW PROJECT UNDERWAY! 🧱

This traditional property is getting some much-needed TLC!

We’re removing all the defective mortar from the front elevation and replacing it with a premixed lime mortar, carefully colour-matched to the client’s specifications. 👌

A sympathetic approach to help preserve the character of the original stonework while giving it a fresh, long-lasting finish.

🏡 Another restoration project complete! 🔨

A fantastic 19th-century stone property in the beautiful Kings Park, Stirling has been given some much-needed TLC.

We carefully:
🔨 Removed defective mortar
🪨 Restored the original stonework
🏡 Repointed using colour-matched lime mortar
📍 Worked up to lintel level of the converted flat
