We’re proud to be continuing our partnership with East Ayrshire Council as we head into the third year of delivering the PS-23-97 Cyclical Gutter Cleaning & Maintenance Contract.
Opal Access was awarded the contract in December 2023 for an initial 3-year term, with the option of a further two 1-year extensions. Since mobilisation, our teams have achieved 100% programme delivery year on year, with the annual programme now reaching approximately 13,000 property cleans across East Ayrshire.
The core service is focused on cyclical gutter cleaning, rainwater maintenance, inspection and reporting, but the value of the programme goes much further than simply clearing gutters.
Every property attended is recorded through our live digital project management system, giving East Ayrshire Council access to current programme information including completed and outstanding properties, photographic evidence, identified defects, access issues and overall progress.
Our approach is simple:
Clean. Inspect. Report.
While our technicians are already at each property, we use the opportunity to inspect accessible roofline and rainwater elements, photograph defects and highlight anything requiring further attention.
The partnership has continued to develop, with Opal also supporting East Ayrshire Council with roof condition surveys, professional roof cleaning and moss removal, biocide treatment, remedial roofing works and defect reporting.
This allows information gathered through routine planned maintenance to help identify future requirements before smaller issues have the opportunity to become larger and more expensive problems.
Delivering a programme of this scale takes a huge amount of coordination behind the scenes, from scheduling and access planning through to reporting, quality control and managing thousands of individual property records.
