Impact Repair | Oxford. Engineering a Bespoke Solution Following Major Impact Damage at a Commercial Farm 🌽

When a delivery vehicle collided with a commercial agricultural barn in Oxfordshire, it caused catastrophic structural damage, destroying almost half of the building.

The impact sheared through the barn's primary reinforced concrete support pillars, compromising the structural integrity of the roof and leaving the building at immediate risk of collapse. The project demanded far more than a standard insurance repair, it required specialist engineering, bespoke manufacturing and meticulous project management to safely restore a vital working farm building.

With the building structurally unstable, protecting the site, farm operations and everyone working nearby became the immediate priority. Adding further complexity, the original concrete pillars were bespoke to the building and could not simply be ordered as replacement components.

Working closely with structural engineers and insurers, we developed a bespoke reinstatement solution.

Rather than sourcing replacement components, our team designed and manufactured custom formwork templates to produce new reinforced concrete support pillars, ensuring the replacement structure matched the original design while meeting modern engineering standards.

Innovation in Restoration
This project showcased the value of combining insurance restoration expertise with engineering innovation. By designing and manufacturing bespoke concrete pillar moulds, we were able to recreate structural elements that were no longer commercially available, allowing the barn to be restored without compromising its structural integrity or operational function.

The Outcome
Through careful planning, specialist engineering and close collaboration with all stakeholders, Nationserv successfully restored the damaged agricultural building, returning it to full structural integrity while ensuring the safety of everyone on site throughout the project.

What began as a catastrophic impact damage claim became a showcase of technical problem-solving, innovative thinking and expert project delivery.

Specialist Restoration Following an Escape of Water 💧🏠 Moving into a new home should be an exciting milestone, not the beginning of an insurance claim.

Shortly after purchasing their new property in Caldecote, near Hitchin, the homeowners experienced an escape of water from the ensuite, causing significant damage to the bathroom and adjoining dressing room.

Our Nationserv team stepped in to manage the restoration from start to finish, ensuring the property was carefully reinstated while supporting the policyholder throughout what was understandably a stressful start to life in their new home.

The works included:

🔹 Assessment, drying and preparation of the affected areas
🔹 Repairs to damaged ceilings and internal finishes
🔹 Restoration of the adjoining dressing room
🔹 Specialist installation of premium herringbone LVT flooring
🔹 Full project management and communication throughout the claim

Particular care was taken with the herringbone flooring to achieve a high-quality finish that complemented the standard of the home.

Roof Repair | Porthleven, near Helston, Cornwall 🌊

Rapid Storm Damage Response for a Luxury Coastal Holiday Home.

When severe storms caused significant roof damage to a luxury coastal holiday property in Porthleven, near Helston, Cornwall, the homeowner was thousands of miles away on a cruise, leaving them unable to manage the situation firsthand.

With the property operating as a high-end holiday rental, every day out of action had the potential to impact future bookings and income. Our priority was to secure the property quickly, minimise further damage and restore the roof with as little disruption as possible.

From receiving the insurance claim, our team acted immediately. Within just eight days, we had:

✔️ Attended site to assess the storm damage
✔️ Completed a full technical survey
✔️ Prepared and submitted the scope of works for insurer approval
✔️ Scheduled the repair programme
✔️ Mobilised our specialist roofing team
