Earlier this year, Richard Castle, one of our Transport Team, had a PSA test which came back higher than expected.
He was referred to Mount Vernon Hospital for further checks, including an MRI, which thankfully came back clear.
Going through that experience - and seeing first-hand the care, professionalism, and dedication of the doctors and nurses - made a lasting impression. It also highlighted how important early detection and research are when it comes to prostate cancer.
To give something back, on 23rd May Richard and 16 friends will be taking part in The Big Golf Race in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK, yet it remains the only major cancer without a national screening programme. That needs to change.
A JustGiving page has been set up, and any support, whether through donations or simply sharing this post, would be hugely appreciated.
Every contribution helps fund vital research into earlier diagnosis and better outcomes for men across the UK.
