**Emergency Call-Out**
On Saturday night we were called out to a local chicken shop after they suffered a complete loss of power.
On inspection, we found that the neutral terminal on the main switch had not been tightened correctly. This had caused excessive heat build-up, resulting in the main switch failing and coming dangerously close to catching fire.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the only issue. We also found several concerns within the consumer unit, including:
* No grommet strip protecting the cable entries.
* A mixture of different brands of circuit breakers.
* Exposed copper conductors.
* General poor workmanship and safety concerns.
We carried out the necessary repairs to safely restore power and get the business back up and running that evening.
However, the installation requires a full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), and we have recommended a complete consumer unit replacement to ensure the installation is safe and compliant.
Poor electrical workmanship can have serious consequences. If you have any concerns about your electrical installation, domestic or commercial, get in touch to get it checked by one of our electricians.
