A gate is only as good as the power and the cable behind it.

On a commercial unit on Fernbank we took the supply out to the entrance, fed the motor cabinet and wired the intercom post so the whole lot behaves as one system — open it from the office, open it from your phone, open it for a delivery driver who has never been there before.

Dark by six, heating back on, and the electrics working harder than they have all year. 🌧️⚡

Commercial EV charging isn't a unit on a wall. It's the supply capacity, the load management, the cable route, the earthing arrangement and the certification — all decided before anyone drills a single hole.

Do that groundwork properly and you get chargers that work on day one and still work when you want to add two more next year. Skip it and you find out the hard way that there was never enough capacity.

Landlords — your EICR is a legal requirement, not a nice-to-have. 📋⚡

In England, every rented property needs a valid Electrical Installation Condition Report at least every 5 years. A copy goes to the tenant within 28 days, and anything coded C1, C2 or FI has to be put right within 28 days of the report.

Here's the part most people never get told: a report that only tested half the circuits leaves the other half unknown. We always recommend a sample as close to 100% as is reasonably practicable, and anything we genuinely couldn't test is recorded as "not tested" — so you know exactly where you stand rather than finding out later.

Winter is when the faults show up. Now is the sensible time to book.

Cameras are the easy part. Getting a signal to them is the job. 📹📶

CCTV and WiFi installation at a commercial unit — external domes and bullet cameras covering the yard and the approach, plus outdoor access points giving proper coverage across the whole site instead of just near the office.

Most CCTV that disappoints was installed by someone who thought hard about camera positions and not at all about the network behind them. Cable routes, PoE budget, where the recorder lives, whether the far end of the yard has any signal — that is what decides whether you can actually pull the footage on the day you need it.

We install fire, intrusion and CCTV as part of the electrical package, not as something bolted on at the end by a different firm.

This is an ordinary afternoon for a house with solar and a battery. 📊

Straight off a customer's app: 2.3 kW coming off the roof, 2.26 kW running the house, battery already sat at 100%, and the surplus going back to the grid.

We carried out the electrical installation at Historics Auctioneers' showroom in Ascot — lighting, power, containment and the systems that keep the building running behind the scenes.

A showroom has two jobs to do at once: make the cars look their best, and work hard for the people running the business. Every light position, every cable route and every outlet was set out with both in mind.

From empty shell to working building. ⚡

Full lighting and power installation at a commercial unit on Fernbank — three-phase supply, metering and distribution on a properly built board, LED linear lighting the length of the unit, emergency lighting throughout, and power run out to the plant and the workshop bays.
