A quick one that genuinely matters. Have you got a working carbon monoxide alarm near your fire or stove?
You can't see it, smell it or taste it. A blocked or faulty flue can let it build up in the room without a single warning sign, which is exactly why an alarm isn't optional.
Pop a fresh battery in. Test it. If you haven't got one, a decent alarm costs a few pounds and sits quietly doing one of the most important jobs in the house.
We check flue condition on every visit. The alarm is your backup. Have both.
