Hi a very rare post but certain people are at it again, they can't help themselves when there own work is a bit low.
I had a customer that paid a £35 call out which I tried to repair but it needed a part I sorced that part but was unable to arrange a suitable time for the repair.
I never charged the customer for the part or any future work just the weekend callout.
Now this customer aside they are again stating or colluding with people that are stating lies about me. That's fine if that's how they get their jobs but it's not what I'm about. Fair competition is always the best way.
These same people that constantly moan about me rather than concentrate on there own work. I have been to their customers that they have charged alot more than me '£60 call never turned up or answered phone', 'I never heard back after paying callout', laughable but these are the same people that for there own gain are trying to stop my work. THEY should be ashamed as during normal hours I will quote for free and charge NO call out.

So I have been on checkatrade now for a long time we used to get people say it was no good and only unqualified people went there but I'm happy to say that those same people that said those very things are now also members so I'm not sure what's happened either those people mentioning no names were falsely saying things that were not true or those people are advertising falsely on a media they don't believe in.

*************BEWARE CUSTOMER*************

It has become apparent that there are company's out there that are scaremongering people in order to charge more.
They are saying you have to be part p registered to carry out any electrical work. Even to repair appliances, this is wrong and as said they are just trying to scare you in order to charge more.
I have added below all work you can do without being part p registered as taken from the niceic website.

I personally am a qualified electrician and I used to be registered as part p myself however for the past few years I have held a position as a senior engineer for a domestic and commercial appliance engineering company. Therefore I only do part time non notifiable electrical work as it's not worth my while paying to be part p registered.

I hope this helps customers understand a bit more when seeking an electrician.

What types of electrical work are 'non-notifiable'?

The following types of work are non-notifiable:

Replacing accessories such as socket-outlets, control switches and ceiling rosesReplacing the cable for a single circuit only, where damaged, for example, by fire, rodent or impact. Re-fixing or replacing the enclosures of existing installation components. Providing mechanical protection to existing fixed installations. Installing or upgrading main or supplementary equipotential bonding. Work that is not in a kitchen or special location and does not involve a special installation. and consists of:
- adding lighting points (light fittings and switches) to an existing circuit.
- adding socket-outlets and fused spurs to an existing ring or radial circuit.
