Pops Patch

Pops Patch A patch of common land owned by South Holland District Council that for years has been used as a dum Thank you for reading out story of Pop`s Patch.

Pop`s Patch page is about doing a make over on a patch of common council land that is only 4 metres square that was used by a few as somewhere they thought it ok to dump there old, unwanted household items, anything from single black bags to fridge freezer's, 3 piece suites and large car parts. I asked the council if it was possible to look after and maintain the patch of grass containing only a h

ighways salt box. I approached the council only to be told it may be possible but there would be a charge of £385.00 to cover the change of use on the council plans. After a short while a very nice lady called Lynn rang me out of the blue and said they had visited the patch of land had agreed to allow me to look after it (for free) but with a few simple conditions. I started to tidy up the patch and a very people from the area start to stop and have a chat about what I was doing and seemed very pleased that someone was taking a bit of pride of the area they live. Its only took 27 years for me to realize that the patch of grass across the road can be put to better use than it was. It has now got a little bit bigger now as there is another waste patch exactly opposite that is now getting the same loving care and being tided up.

So true.....

Sadly as we are moving home in 2 and a half weeks after 32 years down the Golden mile, Pops patch has now, more or less grown back to the way it was and may turn back into a fly tipping area.
I think it's very sad that a few residents have found the time to complain to the SHDC about my work and that a few more cannot take better care of the area they live in. Don't moan about the area and leave it for someone else to look after it for you. Good luck folk.

Thank you for all your support and your love for pop's patch. But as we will be moving soon it has been returned back to its original state ready for the council grass cutter to cut. 😞 thanks again to all the pop's patch followers.

Thank you Ruth for liking Pops Patch. Please take a look at "Warren Frees memorial garden" page too. Which is immediately opposite Pops Patch these are both looked after pieces of Lincolnshire county council land.

Pops patch maybe coming to an end and handing it back to the council as it's just not worth the hassle from a nearby neighbour who is constantly moaning about everything and I cannot be doing with the selfish sh*t i am just to busy and getting along with the receiving of e-mails from the council, so welcome back to the fly tipping patch.

The new grit box. The catch will be removed on my next day off. I am a little concerned I might have to move it back againest the wall to its original postion 10 ft from where it is. But if I am asked too then that will be the final straw and It will return back to its orginal state apart from Warrens memorial garden of course that will always remain unless the council want it back.
