As a Southport born and bred father of four, I want to send my heartfelt condolences to all the people affected by yesterday’s atrocities in our hometown. It’s hard to comprehend something like this has happened in our usually peaceful and beautiful town, let alone to children - similar ages to my own.
I can never comprehend senseless violence but this was children dancing on their summer holidays to their favourite singer. They should have been safe and having fun. It’s devastating.
From the staff who tried to protect them and the children attending who are still fighting to the first responders doing their best to help everyone - the world is with you, and sending our love. Sending even more love and strength to the families directly impacted by loss or injury, trying to get through this ordeal. There are no words. No words will ever be enough. Our prayers are with you 💔
