didn’t think lightning could strike twice so soon but less than a week from the first one i found, i’ve just found another same terrible connection on a rewire im doing, and the worst thing is it’s the really old vulcanised rubber cable! you just dont know what’s hidden under the floorboards when you buy an old house! The clients have done the right thing getting their old property rewired!

Sometimes it really is best to start again and know that everything is modern and and safe with the right protection and new cable done properly!

I went to a call out this evening when a client went through a cable and i came across the worst thing i’ve found under a floor board left behind by the last person who did work there, cables not in a connector block or in wago’s but twisted together
then taped! It’s truly shocking what people
do and think yes that’s good! It’s scary to think how long it’s been like that for! After i finished it was all correctly and safely reconnected properly with wago’s in a wago box.

It’s been a week of all sorts, new lights new sockets, but check out this what we did in Hoylake. What an amazing difference! The before and after pics are unbelievable!!

Nice start to the week today, this morning saw me change 3 really old and really nasty looking lights that where so dull glow worms in jam jars would have been more effective, to new modern bright lights for a kitchen.

while doing that i got a call of a woman who’d broken a socket off the wall. As soon as i finished the lights i shot round. People say things happen for a reason, and this job felt like it was true, as to my horror she said a Diy person had installed some sockets and used the completely wrong sized cable, and installed it absolutely awfully too! The cross sectional area of the cable was too small for the amps that could potentially run through and was spured twice with no fused spur.

After a quick dash to the wholesalers i soon got her back up and running and had it all safe as it should have been in the first place! Bloody DIY’ers!!!

well i’ve started my week break and it feels very weird doing nothing! Going to try and have a well earned rest after a solid 4 months of non stop graft from me and the team!!
