This is me with pretty much every tool I use to make and install my units. My workspace is small and has no fixed machinery, which means I can’t pre-assemble everything before I spray and fit it. Because of that, every job has to be planned meticulously to ensure each piece fits to perfection.

People often ask whether I plan to expand and move into bigger premises, and the answer is always: maybe one day. But for now, I enjoy working with my hands and creating beautiful, one-off pieces far too much to trade my tools for computers and more paperwork.

It’s probably time I introduced myself properly, it’s only been 10 years that I’ve been on Instagram 🙃

I’m Adam and I’ve been making fitted furniture for the last 6 years. Before that I was learning carpentry working for Clever Carpentry as a mature apprentice in Southend. And before that I worked in Media for ITV after getting BA Hons in History at Nottingham Trent.

I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life until I was working whilst travelling in my late 20’s on some building sites as a labourer in Australia for - it was then I set my heart on becoming a carpenter. Since that moment I’ve never looked back.

Joinery is the blood, my dad was once one half of Deacon & Sandy’s, specialising in 16th and 17th century craftsmanship predominately from Oak.

I love what I do. Creating beautiful bespoke pieces, working with my hands and having a sense of fulfilment at the end of the day.

A welcomed break from the usual requested shaker style door cabinets!

Made with at his wonderfully equipped workshop. This Bambi airstream was in need of a renovation and got the birch ply x Iroko mid century style look. Bambi will be in the fields of Glastonbury now with her owner preparing for the festival.

Was a pleasure working with Nick on this one, working with different materials on an unusual shape.

Brief was to hide a very out of level chimney breast (not an original feature) in this incredibly old cottage in Tillingham. Whilst being functional and being able to utilise storage in the alcove.

All made on site then taken away to spray in the workshop, then back to fit again. Access was tricky as you can imagine with a building this old so each piece couldn’t be too large in order to navigate the staircase. You simply couldn’t get this kind of service with the big national companies, which in my opinion is why it is so important to use local companies.
