This beautiful Epiphone Riviera’ came in looking tired and with the bridge pickup not working? The bridge tone control had dropped into the body, and the guitar was in a bad state. All refurbished and now in tip-top condition!

This 24 yr old Lovely Martin D12-01, (12 string)’ came-in because it’s action was way too high? Upon inspection, the guitar had already been severely setup as the truss rod was maxed-out’ and the Bridge saddle was shaved ultra low? But I could see the belly of the top from behind the bridge, was bulging upward quite a lot which was the cause of the high action. After using damp spray, and clamping it down flat’ and left 48hrs, I then used a warm hairdryer heat’ on the buldge area, whilst clamped to dry out the spruce top and help to pull it back flat, left another 24 hrs, and happily it’s returned to normal as per photo? Was then able to continue to setup, by cleaning/oiling the fingerboard & bridge unit & polishing the frets.
Was then able to restring with a slightly lighter set of D’addario 9-45- 12 string set, which would give a little less pull on the bridge , also smoothed out the nut slots a little lower to help play and feel.
Played perfectly now! Job done! 🎸👍

A rather nice OLP double neck came in for a complete setup, for Craig Cutmore, previous owner had used the 12 string as a six, the action was way out on both? And when the new, 12 string set was fitted, the strings kept popping out of the G' and B' nut slots, upon investigation, the slots had been cut wrong, and enabled the string to slide out easily when strummed, even lightly?
The nut itself, looked ok, so filled the slots with bone dust mixed with a weak super glue, left overnight to dry hard, and then re-cut the slots with stumac' nut files! This worked fine, and holds the strings well now!. (temp job, will fit a tusk nut soon).
Set both necks up, checking fret hights, frets polished, intonation set, saddle radius adjusted, tightenend loose machine heads, action set, truss rods adjusted for best feel and play..
Checked electrics were all ok, polished body and brightwork, fitted a nice wide strap, with the new D'addario strap locks, tested ok!
Quite a nice example of a double neck. (And 100% better than when it came in!).. Hope Craig has a lot of enjoyment with it! 😊🎶🎵🎼

Here's the burned and smoke damaged Hohner Strat that I previously posted, It's at last ready, and looking a lot healthier!. Electrics, we're shot, fretboard and frets needed a lot of cleaning/polishing as did all the rest of the body and brightwork, but after a lot of painstaking work, and a complete setup, I'm pleased to report that my customer can play this guitar again, it is very sentimental to him, and very satisfying to have it back to a playing condition..
