We are totally devastated

The family of four were just too cold and weak to be saved and they have all passed.

This week has truly been the worst ever. On Monday evening two kittens died at two separate vets, both of flea anaemia. One had been bought on Gumtree, advertised as being 10 weeks old, yet she weighed just 400g, the weight of a 3 week old. Her gums were white, the vet said she was the worst she has ever seen. At the same time, another darling boy lost his flight, covered in adult fleas, having been found outside with his mum. Both died a terrible death.

And now this little family. 6 lives taken, because of human neglect.

We aren’t made of stone, we aren’t machines, this hurts us all so terribly. It doesn’t matter if they have been with us 1 day or 1 month, the pain is unbearable. But it isn’t just us. Today, just as on Monday, an army of veterinary staff did everything they could to save the most fragile and weak lives. We appreciate them so much and we are also so very aware of the toll it takes on them too and we'd like to say how much we appreciated them and are sorry for their hurt too. The cost today wasn’t just financial, hearts also paid a price.

We truly are in crisis, like many rescues and simply can’t carry on without raising more funds. We can give ourselves and our time but we can’t rescue if we can’t afford the bills. This week we saw exactly that, another rescue looking for help with a family because they were sick and the funds weren’t there. That scares us.

Lovely morning with our Monday Lunch Club guests today. Was very moving to hear some of their memories about D Day 🇬🇧 A reminder that their generation were impacted hugely with the loss of family members, friends and neighbours. It was our honour to show them that we remember them 🇬🇧
They enjoyed some good old fish and chips, followed by Lemon cake and ice cream, all freshly cooked on site 😊

🎄🎉 What a fantastic Christmas lunch for our Sarisbury Seniors Lunch club guests, which was held this week at Sarisbury Green Community Centre 🎄🎉

A few weeks back we asked our fabulous community if there would be anyone who would like to donate towards our annual festive lunch for our local, senior friends ☺️
We were absolutely bowled over by the generosity shown by some of our local businesses and individuals 🙏💕 Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏

Due to your lovely donations, we were able to give our guests, and all of the volunteers who work so hard to make lunch club happen every week, the most amazing Christmas dinner, raffle and gifts 😀
As you can see by the photos, our ladies and gentlemen were very happy indeed!

Thank you also to the children at Sarisbury Green Pre-School who came in to sing so beautifully 🎶

☕This week was and we're giving a shout out to all those wonderful people who offer up their time to volunteer within the community!

Here at Seniors Lunch Club IN Sarisbury Green , we have an amazing team of volunteers who get together every week to ensure that some of our local seniors enjoy a hearty and nutritious two course lunch. We shop, prep and cook onsite and have a lot of fun along the way.😊

Our visitors routinely tell us how much they appreciate the time and effort that has gone into running the club 💕 but as volunteers, it's our privilege to be able to spend a couple of hours of our time so that our guests enjoy a sit down lunch, as well as much needed social contact with new friends. We were thrilled to hear that a few of our ladies who met at club, are now looking forward to a cruise together!! 🛳️

The club is always looking for new volunteers. Each volunteer helps out one Monday in every month but we're all super flexible to ensure we can cover any last minute swaps and changes, so do get in touch if you would like to find out more👋

What a super turn out at weekly Lunch club today!
We had our highest number yet with our senior guests enjoying bolognese pasta bake, followed by old school Jam and coconut tray bake (with custard of course 😊)
As volunteers, we prepare, cook and bake all the food on site, while our guests enjoy unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits and all important company.

🎄Next month, we are aiming to serve our lovely pensioners a fantastic Christmas feast and we will be bringing all of our wonderful volunteers together to also enjoy the moment.

While we do get some funding, we work hard to ensure all food is fresh, high quality and within budget but we're asking our wonderful community if they would be able to help sponsor a Christmas dinner 🎄🎅

Are you a local business or know of a business that could help with a donation ?
Maybe a fab discount on some potatoes for our roasties?
Or maybe you know of someone who has spare crackers they can pass on? 🎄

Please do give us a DM if you feel you could help. Our guests often only have one proper cooked meal a week and we know how much this club is appreciated by them 😊

🥩Many of us were gutted to lose the previous butchers in Locks Heath but we're super thrilled to be having these guys open their doors tomorrow 😍

They will also be having a celebratory pop in event this evening for those who would like a sneak peek 👀 🍾

The very best of luck guys! We are very much looking forward to visiting!

Welcome to The Oaty Goat at Locks Heath Shopping Village 🐐😀

We managed a very swift visit today to have a quick look at what they've done with the place and we're super impressed!

Along with a gorgeous interior, they have a lovely menu, accompanied by a fab selection of cakes🎂😍
It was smoothies to go for us but we will be heading back shortly for a longer visit. Watch this space 😊
