This is the hardest post we’ve ever had to write.
Last Monday, we lost a very special friend and colleague. Keith suffered a cardiac arrest whilst working on one of our projects. Despite the best efforts of everyone involved, and the incredible efforts of those who tried to save him, Keith sadly passed away at Southampton General Hospital last Friday evening.
To say we’re all heartbroken is an understatement.
I saw Keith on Monday morning, and just an hour later he called me to discuss a potential project. If only I’d have known that would be the last time I’d ever get to speak to him.
Keith was an amazing person. He was funny, full of character, and a true gentleman. He was also a bloody good plumber and took real pride in his work.
But to me, Keith was much more than a plumber or a colleague, he was a friend. Over the years, we formed a great friendship, and I was lucky enough to spend plenty of time with Keith and his wife, Sal, including many meals and good times together. Two of his favourite hobbies, work and eating.
I still can’t believe he’s gone.
The day it happened will live forever in the memories of the lads who were there and did absolutely everything they could to save him. They gave it everything they had, and we will always be grateful for that.
Keith, you will be missed more than words can say. We’ll miss your humour, your stories, your friendship and having you around.
