✅ Another air conditioning installation completed – and this one was worth the wait! ❄️🔥

Today we finally got to finish off an installation for a fantastic customer who has been patiently waiting for their final indoor unit to arrive.

And we really do appreciate their patience! 🙏

This was arguably the most important room in the house to get air conditioning installed – the loft conversion! 🏡

As we all know, loft rooms can become incredibly hot during the summer months, with heat building up throughout the day and making them uncomfortable, especially at bedtime. 🥵

With their new Midea air conditioning unit installed, they can now enjoy:

❄️ A cool, comfortable room throughout summer
🔥 Efficient heating during the colder months
🌡️ Complete control over their room temperature
😴 A much more comfortable night’s sleep!

📼 Well, that’s an unusual boiler fault! 😂

Called out to a boiler firing when it shouldn’t and repeatedly overheating… we certainly weren’t expecting to find a video case in the heating tank!

It was holding the float up, stopping the tank from refilling. The tank had run dry, leaving air in the system and stopping the water circulating properly. 💧

After removing the obstruction, refilling and clearing the trapped air, we got the heat moving again and the overheating stopped. 🙌

We also traced the unwanted firing to a faulty hot-water zone valve. We’re returning to replace that and the ball valve, then complete our final checks.

Another reminder that proper fault-finding matters—sometimes the answer is hiding up in the loft! 🔍

☔️😂 Well, that didn’t quite go to plan! 🤦‍♂️

Remember yesterday’s air conditioning installation in the pouring rain?

We thought we’d be clever and put together a makeshift shelter to keep ourselves and the equipment dry… ☔️

Great idea in theory… not so great in practice! 😂

The rainwater started pooling on top, getting heavier and heavier, until eventually it all came pouring down straight on top of us! 💦🤣

Safe to say, we ended up wetter than if we’d just worked in the rain! 🤦‍♂️

But despite the weather, a soaking wet team and a shelter that didn’t quite go to plan…

Another Daikin air conditioning installation completed! ✅💪

And with the colder weather arriving, it’s worth remembering that air conditioning isn’t just for summer!

Beckett’s Plumbing & Heating is growing again and we’re looking for an experienced engineer to join the team.

For this role, we’re ideally looking for someone who is both Gas Safe registered and F-Gas qualified, with good experience across heating and air conditioning.

The role will include a mixture of:

* Boiler servicing, repairs and installations
* General heating and gas work
* Air conditioning installation, servicing and commissioning
* Fault finding and diagnostics
* Working directly with customers
* A mixture of domestic heating and AC projects

We’re looking for someone who can work confidently and independently, takes pride in their work, is reliable, tidy, good with customers and wants to be part of a growing local business.

We’ve built a strong reputation across Southampton and the surrounding areas and we want someone who cares about doing the job properly — not rushing from job to job.

What we can offer:
Competitive salary depending on experience and qualifications, company van, varied work, ongoing training and the opportunity to grow with the business.

Unfortunately, Google has once again decided to disable our Business Profile while we go through their appeal process.

Running a small business is hard enough without waking up to things like this! 😅

We’ve built our reputation over years of hard work and had reached 178 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google reviews, so having our profile suddenly disappear is incredibly frustrating.
