Another Zappi EV charger installation completed in Chilworth, Southampton. ⚡🚗

For this installation, we supplied and fitted a Myenergi Zappi EV charging point, with a dedicated supply using EV Ultra cable.

The cable route was fairly long, running from the consumer unit, outside the property, through the garage and then back out to the EV charging point. Using EV Ultra gave us the power and data connection required while keeping the installation neat and suitable for the Zappi setup.

We also installed the required additional RCD protection, fitted and configured the CT/load monitoring clamp, fully commissioned the Zappi and helped the customer set up the Myenergi app on their phone.

The customer chose an untethered Zappi, allowing them to use the charging cable they already own and take it with them when required rather than having a permanently attached cable at home.

Another complete installation—charger supplied, professionally installed, tested, configured and ready to charge.

Another Hypervolt EV charger installation in Southampton, this time for a customer buying a Tesla to use for his taxi business.

We installed a Hypervolt with a 7.5-metre charging cable and a dedicated EV consumer unit. The existing consumer unit wasn’t being upgraded, so rather than spending money replacing equipment unnecessarily, we designed a separate dedicated supply for the EV charging point.

Because this Tesla will be used commercially, choosing the right electricity tariff could make a significant difference to the customer’s running costs. During the installation, we discussed the different EV tariffs available and what he needs to consider as a taxi driver.

The important bit isn’t simply finding the cheapest overnight rate. He needs to work out how many miles he drives each month, how much energy the Tesla will need, when the car is actually available to charge, and how large the off-peak charging window is. A cheap tariff isn’t much use if the car is still out working when the cheapest charging period starts.

That’s something we regularly discuss with customers. We don’t just fit the charger and leave—we help you understand how to get the most from it.

My upstairs lights decided not to work, which included a mazerater in the on suite toilet. Went to Google looked at reviews and decided to give Solid electrics a try. Went online and booked a call back from the website. Got a message giving me a possible date and time, as this was acceptable I agreed. Got an email to confirm and a call the day before as a reminder. On the day I had an email to say Shem was on his way and approximately 20 mins away. Shem then did a test on the wiring and found a likely cause. Unfortunately it was in an unaccessible part of my very full loft. So after I clean a space he'll be back to fix. In all an extremely efficient response by a friendly expert. Would recommend Shem to anyone.
