Garden Design in Romsey, Hampshire

This proposal outlines our vision for the immediate garden spaces surrounding the property.

We have balanced functional hard landscaping with soft landscaping areas to create both practical and aesthetically pleasing garden areas.

The newly constructed house offers panoramic views and direct access to the garden, with interior sightlines being a crucial aspect, allowing for several focal points throughout the design.

The project brief included the creation of parterre gardens, a swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen, and various areas for entertaining and relaxation.

The broader landscape features meadows with mowed pathways, an orchard, and a new swimming pond.

This is just one of several larger projects we are currently working on across the South. The approved development consists of 36 units along with an expansive public open space.

A stunning project recently completed in Christchurch, Dorset for

The carefully structured layout has been crafted to complement the modern architecture. At the heart of the design lies a formal central lawn, bordered by natural limestone paved setts, leading to a custom fire pit area that displays breathtaking coastal views.

The slipway has been created by using large concrete sections separated with lawn, creating both a decorative and functional use of space.

Here are some lovely photos captured by last week, highlighting one of our projects in Poole.

It's wonderful to see the plants mature and settle into the landscape. We also used natural materials to echo the coastal environment.

The House of Canford Cliffs - Project Diaries no 1.

Having worked on the design process it's amazing to see the site take shape. It's a special project to be working on, with great clients and site team bringing the vision to life.

We have started shaping the landscape, already planting over 2,500 plants!

The extensive planting scheme includes a low maintenance combination of perennials and grasses planted in large drifts with ilex crenata topiary.

Soon, we will introduce additional evergreen hedging and large multi-stem trees with uplighting, which will create stunning focal points in the evening as you make your way towards the pool house.

Anyone for wine?

One of our favourite schemes we have designed in recent months located in The New Forest, Hampshire

This artistic sketch effect illustrates how the landscape design complements the proposed modern barn-style architecture.

The front garden creates a courtyard-style approach to the entrance, with extensive planting, feature trees, a formal lawn, and a natural water feature.

Around the side and rear gardens, a new swimming pool and paved terraces provide spaces for relaxation and play, while the wider landscape extends to a large formal lawn, meadow, and orchard.

The planting scheme balances strong, structured forms, including topiary, evergreen hedges, and naturalistic herbaceous planting that reflects the rural setting and wider landscape.

What should you expect from a garden designer at the detailed stage?

During the detailed stage of a project we produce detailed construction drawings of all hard landscaping elements, planting plans, and a full bill of quantities. These drawings are used to request comparative quotes and to accurately construct the garden.

We take great pride in the detailed service we offer, our drawings are comprehensive and compile a large pack of construction drawings and bill of quantities.

We delve into an incomparable level of detail. Plans include the minutia of detail, ensuring everything is included and accounted for, providing complete transparency on what is being delivered.

A landscape contractor should never be expected to scale from plans and calculate quantities themselves. The information should be provided for them. Completing a bill of quantities is quicker to complete and update should there be a change to the scope of works.

When requesting multiple tenders it’s easy to compare prices, with all landscape contractors having completed the same document.

A detailed package of drawings may be more expensive in fees, but the value for money is priceless, and overall will actually save money.

Many thanks to S T E P H E N B I S H O P - Contemporary Art for approaching us to display some of his artwork in our studio.

We chose Rising & Aphrodite from his stunning collection of oil paintings.

Stephens paintings are often associated with the Dorset coast where he lives and works.

His current work is inspired by his daily sea swim routine, drawings exploring Northern Soul and ancient neolithic sites of Wessex.
