A little behind the scenes of what goes into a treatment plant installation 👷

There’s quite a bit more to it than digging a hole and dropping a tank in!

Before we get to the finished result, we need to consider the existing drainage, access to the site, ground conditions, pipework, discharge route and the requirements of the property.

Every site throws something slightly different at us, which is all part of the job.

Project spotlight 📍 Colehayes Park, Bovey Tracey

Last year we completed the replacement of an existing septic tank at Colehayes Park, a wedding venue on Dartmoor.

After assessing the existing system and how the site is used, our team installed a Harlequin HydroClear HPDD-200 sewage treatment plant, designed to serve up to 200 people.

With a busy venue like Colehayes Park, it was important to make sure the new system could meet the demands of the property, particularly during weddings and events.

From the initial site visit and planning through to installation, our team managed the complete process and found the right solution for the client.

No two properties or drainage systems are the same, which is why we take the time to visit the site and understand the full picture before recommending any work👷

We recently visited a property near Ashburton where the existing septic tank serves three homes. The system is old and needs replacing, but with some of the drainage running beneath the properties, it isn’t simply a case of swapping one tank for another.

One of the properties is also being sold, so it’s important to find a solution that resolves the current issues and works for everyone connected to the system.

During the visit, we assessed the existing drainage and looked at where a new 20-person Harlequin tank and drainage field could be installed. We also considered access, the power supply and any future building plans that could affect its position.

We’ll always look for the best solution for our customers, taking into account the property, the practical requirements and the cost involved.
