My job today, working for a gentleman and his partner, visiting me from Camberley, Surrey, to supply and code in a Continental 7" Uconnect head unit with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay 🍏 and Android Auto 🤖, to replace the faulty 5" Uconnect DAB unit in their 2017 Abarth 595 T-Jet. DAB radio couldn't be selected, forcing FM radio listening only; it wouldn't play music from a mobile and randomly rebooted itself. They had replaced the radio antenna base, which didn't get it working. So they decided to have the head unit replaced instead. Running a full ecu diagnostics check using Multiecuscan software revealed no faults at all, just low air conditioning pressure.👏🏻😁 Once the new head unit was fitted, along with a satin chrome surround vents trim, correctly coded and proxi aligned, all features 🍏🤖 fully working.
😁👍🏻 Then used the hidden Engineering Menu diagnostics to check the AM, FM and DAB radio aerial receivers - all great reception. The owners were pleased to be able to use Apple CarPlay and Maps on a large display, plus using Siri to control everything handsfree - much safer for the family. I also gave the car a good look over checking the condition and servicing due. 🔧😊 We also discussed air filters 🌬, cleaning the scuttle panel and intercoolers out 💦🧽, wheels 🛞, petrol ⛽️ 95❌️ 99✅️, Copart rebuilds 🔧, USB cables & Bluetooth dongles 🛜🥶 and speaker upgrades

My job today, working for a lady and her partner, Fiat 500 Owners Club UK members, visiting me from Stourbridge, West Midlands, to supply and code in a Continental 7" Uconnect head unit with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay 🍏 and Android Auto 🤖, to replace the 7" Uconnect DAB unit without CarPlay or Auto in their recently bought 2017 Fiat 500S 1.2. Running a full ecu diagnostics check using Multiecuscan software revealed no faults at all. 👏🏻😁 The owners had already replaced the driver's door harness, speaker and centre console AUX USB socket. Once the new head unit was fitted, correctly coded and proxi aligned, all features 🍏🤖 fully working. 😁👍🏻 Then used the hidden Engineering Menu diagnostics to check the AM, FM and DAB radio aerial receivers - all great reception. The owners were pleased to be able to use Android Auto and Google Maps on a large display. I also replaced both heater control bulbs (now keeping stock). Finally, a dash cleanup including all TFT displays. I gave the car a good look over checking the condition and servicing due. 🔧😊 We also discussed phone mounts📱, USB cables & Bluetooth dongles 🛜🥶, mats 😮💰, speaker upgrades 🤩🔊 and security 🚨🔒. My job today, working for a lady and her partner, Abarth Club Yorkshire members, visiting me from Leeds, West Yorkshire, to diagnose her faulty Continental 7" Uconnect head unit in her recently bought 2022 Abarth 695C Turismo. The car was bought with the head unit not working. It was asking for the security code, which was unknown. Several online decoders had given the wrong code. Before meeting, I advised the partner the correct method to get the head unit security decoded, which worked. This required the head unit to be removed and dismantled. The partner noticed the Continental sticker had been removed, so at this point we had no idea what model this head unit actually was. Also, once unlocked, the head unit wasn't working properly, with no sound at all. It was also randomly rebooting itself. They then took it to an Abarth dealer who couldn't help but offered a very expensive new head unit. So they decided to visit me. Running a full diagnostics check using Multiecuscan software revealed a faulty digital climate control distribution flap actuator (another one! 🙄) and proxi configuration errors. It also showed me exactly what head unit model, hardware and software it was (see example photo). A DAB NAV without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. 👎🏻 So, the magic happened 😁🎩🪄 and correctly coded (🐒 been at work again!) . TomTom 🗺 Apple CarPlay🍏 and Android Auto 🤖 magically appeared and head unit fully working. 😁👍🏻 The couple were thrilled that it was fixed and also now able to use Apple CarPlay and Maps- without having to replace it! Finally, a cleanup of all TFT displays and surround trim swap over. I gave the car a good look over checking the condition and servicing due. 🔧😊 We also discussed RV car towing 🚙🚗, petrol ⛽️ 95❌️ 99✅️, cabriolet roof mechanism greasing 🛢🖌, wheels 🛞, bodywork repairs 🧰 , phone mounts📱, USB cables & Bluetooth dongles 🛜🥶, mats 😮💰, speaker upgrades 🤩🔊 and Abarth club events.

Erez Yomtov, owner of GTI Sound, Israel is dishonest. My first work for him on 17/07/2026 he paid a week late. My 3hrs remote diagnostics and coding work for him on 21/07/2026 remains unpaid. He has ignored all my calls, messages and PayPal invoice reminder emails since 06/08/2026. Yet continues to work at the garage and post on social media. So I'm calling him out.

He's Israel's distributor for TMC Motorsport Official Account so I'm letting them know too.

My job today, working for a lady, an Abarth Club East Midlands club Admin, meeting her at Midlands Abarth Day meet, hosted by the club and held at Research Garage Fiat Abarth main dealer in Nuneaton, to supply and code in a Continental 7" Uconnect head unit with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay 🍏 and Android Auto 🤖, to replace the 5" Uconnect DAB unit in her 2016 Abarth 595 Turismo. Running a full ecu diagnostics check using Multiecuscan software revealed a faulty digital climate control distribution flap actuator (yet another one 😕). Once the new unit was fitted, along with a black surround trim, correctly coded and proxi aligned, all features 🍏🤖 would have been fully working. Except unfortunately, the console mounted USB socket was found to be faulty, which the owner is to replace along with the actuator. ☺️🧰 I also ran the hidden Engineering Menu diagnostics to check the AM, FM and DAB radio aerial receivers - all great reception. The owner was very pleased to finally have a large display to use Apple CarPlay. Finally, a dash cleanup including all TFT displays. We discussed phone mounts📱and USB cables & Bluetooth dongles 🛜🥶. My job today, working for a gentleman, all the way from Lincoln, visiting me in Solihull, to supply and code in a Continental 7" Uconnect head unit with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay 🍏 and Android Auto 🤖, to replace the 5" Uconnect DAB unit in his daughter's recently purchased 2018 Fiat 500 1.2 Pop. Running a full ecu diagnostics check using Multiecuscan software revealed no faults at all.
👏🏻😁 Once the new unit was fitted, along with a polished chrome surround trim, correctly coded and proxi aligned, all features 🍏🤖 fully working. 😁👍🏻 Then used the hidden Engineering Menu diagnostics to check the AM, FM and DAB radio aerial receivers - all great reception. Noticed a heater control bulb out, so I replaced it (now keep in stock now as so many blown). The gentleman was pleased to see the much improved large display and use Apple CarPlay and maps. Finally, a dash cleanup including all TFT displays, fixed the door protectors, topped up the engine coolant, oiled the tailgate struts plus cleaned the windscreen too as a long drive ahead. We discussed servicing 🔧😊, phone mounts📱, USB cables & Bluetooth dongles 🛜🥶, TFT instrument cluster upgrades 🕒📟 , cameras 📷 and wheels 🛞. Another happy customer! My job today 😎☀️, working for a gentleman, from Nottingham, the son of a previous lady customer, visiting me in Solihull, to supply and code in a Continental 7" Uconnect head unit with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay 🍏 and Android Auto 🤖, to replace the 5" Uconnect DAB TomTom navigation unit in his 2017 Abarth 595 T-Jet. Running a full ecu diagnostics check using Multiecuscan software revealed no faults at all. 👏🏻😁 Once the new unit was fitted, along with a black surround trim, correctly coded and proxi aligned, all features 🍏🤖 fully working. 😁👍🏻 I also ran the hidden Engineering Menu diagnostics to check the AM, FM and DAB radio aerial receivers. Although the DAB receiver works, the signal quality is poor, so the aerial base will need replacing in future. Also one of the tiny heater control bulbs. I'm going to start stocking these. 😊👍🏻 The owner was very pleased to finally be able to use Apple CarPlay and maps on a large display. Finally, a dash cleanup including all TFT displays (and a little person so she danced! 😉🌺💃); plus the windscreen too as a long drive ahead. We discussed servicing 🔧😊, bodywork 🎨 and cleaning 💦🧽. Definitely going next year, also for the Abarth European Meet, both in Belgium, who's with me?! 🔊🤩📷☀️🚗💥 Dismantling, cleaning, security decoding, reassembling, test fitting. Then Multiecuscan full diagnostics, re-coding and proxi aligning. Then resetting to defaults, removing all user data, mobile phones and settings. Sound and feature testing. Further diagnostics testing using the hidden engineering menu. Entended road testing for several days in my Abarth 595 Competizione. This testing reassures my customers that the hardware I provide works, backed up by my 6 month warranty. A free visit today, returning to help a customer from earlier this week, a lady, back visiting her in Lichfield, Staffordshire, to work again on her 2017 Abarth 595 T-Jet Auto. The Marelli Selespeed automated gearbox was working fine, except she had lost the use of the steering wheel mounted gear selection paddles straight after my visit. Very strange. 🧐 Running Multiecuscan showed no faults on the gearbox ecu. After a short test drive we decided to re-run the manual clutch calibration procedure, plus also then the clutch bleeding procedure, then the final calibration procedure (sets the gear selection - see the video). All completed, a road test showed the parameters looked fine. However, previously I had changed some proxi codes. Turns out I made a mistake on a single byte pair - disabling the paddles. Oops! 😳 Plus, we worked out that enabling TomTom directions on the TFT instrument cluster actually disables radio repetition (showing radio & music info). Once corrected, all working okay. I've updated my proxi codes database. A relieved customer! If you'd like your car faults diagnosed; audio system, instrument cluster or any other electronics upgraded, you know who to contact! 😁👍🏻 But you'll have to pay. 🤣
