🔧 Concealed Toilet System Repair

We were recently called out to a property where the customer was experiencing issues with a concealed toilet system installed behind a fully tiled, fixed wall. Several plumbers had previously attended but were unable to carry out the repair without removing tiles and opening up the wall, which the customer understandably wanted to avoid due to the potential cost and disruption.

Using our experience and careful diagnostics, we were able to access and repair the fault without removing any tiles or causing damage to the existing installation.

The issue was resolved quickly and efficiently, the leak was fully rectified, and the system was left working perfectly. Once completed, everything was reinstated so neatly that you wouldn’t even know we had been there.

Another problem solved with the right knowledge and approach.

If you’re experiencing plumbing issues and want a professional, non-invasive solution where possible, feel free to get in touch.

We recently attended a property following a burst pipe where there was no internal means of isolating the water supply, which can quickly escalate into significant water damage.

Fortunately, the external stop c**k was operational, allowing the customer to temporarily isolate the property while we carried out the necessary works.

Due to the position of the original lead stop c**k, replacing it fully would have required cutting into the base of the kitchen cupboard to install a Plasson lead adapter. As the customer preferred not to alter the cupboard, we agreed on a solution that maintained accessibility while still providing a reliable isolation point.

To achieve this, we:

• Cut into the supply above the existing lead stop c**k
• Installed a Plasson 22mm lead adapter (24–28mm lead to 22mm copper conversion)
• Converted the supply into 22mm copper pipework
• Installed a new 22mm internal stop c**k, providing the customer with a safe and accessible isolation point for the property

This solution allowed us to restore proper control over the water supply without altering the existing cupboard structure, while ensuring the installation remains secure and serviceable.

Having a working internal stop c**k is essential for any property, as it allows the water supply to be quickly isolated in the event of leaks, bursts, or maintenance work.

When we carry out a professional powerflush, we don’t just connect a machine and leave it running. We actively monitor and work the system to achieve the best possible results.

We use thermal imaging to check how radiators heat up and to identify cold spots, restrictions, or blockages caused by sludge. By checking the radiator heat patterns and reversing the flow direction, we can confirm whether debris has been successfully cleared.

Radiators are also isolated one at a time so the full flow from the flushing pump is forced through that radiator. This increases flow rate and helps remove debris more effectively.

During this process we mechanically vibrate the radiator, which helps break up compacted sludge inside the panels so it can be flushed out of the system.

Using these methods ensures the system is cleaned thoroughly, restoring proper circulation, even heat distribution, and improving overall heating efficiency.

Blocked Pipe Cleared During Professional Powerflush

During a recent powerflushing project we identified a significant circulation issue within the heating system. The radiator flow valve was receiving heat, however when the flushing machine direction was reversed the return pipe remained completely cold, immediately indicating a restriction within the circuit.

To further diagnose the issue we used thermal imaging, which clearly confirmed a blockage within the pipework preventing proper circulation.

Rather than resorting to unnecessary pipe replacement, we carried out a controlled blockage removal procedure.

A 15mm isolation valve fitted with an air compressor adaptor was installed into the top of the affected radiator. The radiator flow valve was isolated, while another radiator on the system was opened to act as a bypass route for the system.

Using a compressor we began applying controlled pressure:
• Initial pressure started at 3 bar
• Pressure was increased by 1 bar every 20 seconds
• At 5 bar the pressure briefly held for approximately 10 seconds before suddenly dropping to zero

This pressure drop confirmed the blockage had been successfully dislodged.

Once the compressor valve was isolated and the radiator flow valve reopened, heat immediately began to circulate through the radiator. We then reversed the flushing direction again and confirmed full heat transfer through the return pipe, proving the restriction had been completely cleared.

This is a perfect example of why experience, correct diagnostics, and the right equipment matter when carrying out a powerflush.

There is a common misconception within the industry that microbore systems cannot be flushed or that blockages require pipework to be cut out and replaced. With the correct knowledge and professional approach, many of these issues can be resolved without invasive work — exactly as demonstrated here.

Another heating system restored to full circulation and efficiency.

If your heating system is showing signs of poor circulation, cold radiators, or blockages and may require a professional powerflush, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This project involved rectifying and upgrading a bathroom for a client who had recently purchased their property. Following inspection, it was clear that the previous installation had been completed to a poor standard, leaving the customer considering a full bathroom replacement.

After assessing the space, we advised a more cost-effective and practical solution — carefully upgrading and correcting the existing installation rather than undertaking a full renovation.

✔️ New shower installed
✔️ Bath taps replaced
✔️ Basin tap upgraded
✔️ Basin refitted and secured correctly
✔️ Full professional reseal throughout

The result is a clean, sharp and professionally finished bathroom — without the unnecessary expense of a complete replacement.

We will be returning shortly to complete the next phase:
• Bespoke bath panel installation with tiled finish and access hatch
• Radiator upgrade to a chrome towel rail
• New chrome bath screen installation

Attention to detail and doing the job properly is always the priority.

A proud moment seeing my apprentice, Corey, progressing the way he is. His dedication, work ethic and willingness to learn reflect exactly what this trade is about. The future is bright.

Another happy customer, and another bathroom brought up to the standard it should have been from the start.

Worcester Flow Manifold Replacement & Full Major Service Completed

We recently attended a property to carry out a Worcester flow manifold replacement, along with a comprehensive major service to restore the appliance back to peak operating condition.

The customer had previously been advised by another engineer to consider a full boiler replacement due to the boiler’s age. Naturally, this left him weighing up the cost of a new installation. After a full assessment, we were able to confidently reassure him that he already had a quality appliance installed.

Rather than replacing a perfectly good boiler, we carried out the necessary repair and a thorough service — cleaning, testing, inspecting, and recalibrating key components to manufacturer standards. With the correct care and attention, this boiler is now operating efficiently, reliably, and safely — just as it should.

The result?
A fully restored heating system and a saving of over £2,000 compared to an unnecessary replacement.

Another satisfied customer and another system brought back to life the right way.

Quality diagnosis. Honest advice. Professional workmanship.

Baxi 424 Boiler Installation – Landlord Property Upgrade

We recently completed the installation of a new Baxi 424 boiler at a landlord’s property where the existing appliance had become unreliable and increasingly costly due to repeated breakdowns.

After assessing the system, the landlord opted for a full upgrade to improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term cost control.

Scope of Works Completed:
• Installation of a new Baxi 424 boiler
• Full professional powerflush to restore system performance
• Installation of 6 new TRV and lockshield valve sets
• Full commissioning and system testing
• Boiler registered with Gas Safe and Building Regulations

The new boiler comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee, covering parts and labour, providing the landlord with complete peace of mind and protection against unexpected repair costs.

Following the powerflush and system upgrades, the heating system is now operating efficiently, reliably, and to modern standards.
