Nice little job this morning. Milling machine traverse did not work. Motor was ok had 3phase but contactor not pulling in. Found the A2 of the contactor had been put on the NO of the thermal overload and not NC.
Machine makers plate said 1958 on it still going strong.

Not posted for a while due to the places I have visited.

Traveled all the way down from york to margate to modify/fix this mobile potato grader. Couple of photo cells replaced E-stop system checked. Then on box change over they wanted the line to run on longer than the standard setting, so I put a delay off timer in to hold the call signal on longer. I had some feedback from the farmer and he was very happy with what I had done.

Well I finally found a motor that I couldn't get working or get fixed. Walked up up the old man of Coniston and found this old winch motor. At the top I had to put on my big coat was abit cold.

Been busy the past few weeks with local quarry maintenence, safety systems and little projects.

•lights for a skip yard to light car/truck park

•safety system on a CNC punching machine with bump straps, pressure mats and area scanners. Integrated with the safety system of the machine.

•another safety system fitted to a wood production line. With castel controlled gates, light beams fitted, pull cords where machine and people interaction is needed. Integrated into the control system of the machines, One panel is new-ish and the other from the 80s

•4 post truck lift resurrected from the dead. Been left outside with panel door open then bought by a family run haulage company and it definitely didn't work. But after replacing contactors and doing some rewiring, because the circuit board was water damaged. it eventually worked.

Last weeks project. Installation of safety interlocks to new guarding at a chemical works lab. One of the machines needed the HMI and controls bringing to the front for better access.

Just sorting some lights and working above this.

Also had a mouse behind a small dis board chewing on wires and tripping the snap cabin out. Most important job of the day get the kettle and microwave working for the lads. Have to get priorities right

Vi****or motor kept tripping out. So I was called out to have a look, and found this. Bearing has failed, bits have gone missing, and full shaft has jammed. Sometimes its not electrical but the electrical side says there is a problem. Motor protection was doing its job.

Just few jobs from the past couple weeks. Machine restricted access controls, so only people with a key can gain entry whilst the machine is running.
2 hand dryers replaced.
And a door control rewired after its been disconnected and left for a while.

Barnd new safety interlock for a robot palletising stacking system. Reducing the chance of someone being hurt by the robot or system. Request button to pause the line then safety electrical interlock with personnel keys.
