Small bathrooms need storage, but every bit of it has to earn its place.

My part of this bathroom was the bespoke cabinetry: a fitted unit over the toilet cistern and a wall-mounted cabinet above the door, both made with routed MDF fronts.

It makes good use of space that would otherwise be wasted and adds plenty of practical storage without taking up more floor area.

The clean finish is the part people see. The preparation is what makes it work.

A compact bathroom space can look simple once finished, but the important work happens before the final surfaces go on.

This project involved stripping back the old setup, checking the existing condition, preparing the walls and pipework, and fitting a cleaner, brighter finish for a practical small space.

In compact rooms, details matter — layout, access, pipework, flooring and finishing all need to work together.

This was a practical project focused on making the space cleaner, brighter and more usable within the limits of the room.

These two photographs show the same bathroom at different stages.

Before the shower panels were fitted, the surfaces behind them had to be levelled and prepared.

The completed shower is the part most people see. The earlier work is what helps the panels and fittings sit properly once the room is finished.

That is why I look at the existing condition before talking about scope or cost. A bathroom renovation needs to work with the room, not only with the final choice of fittings.
