Another beautiful pair completed for Atelier Scandia Ltd.

We’re always delighted to work with Atelier Scandia, helping to restore and give new life to exceptional pieces of mid-century furniture.

This time, we had the pleasure of working on a pair of iconic G Plan 6250 armchairs, often known as the “Blofeld Chairs” after their famous appearance in the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice.

It’s a real pleasure to work on furniture with such character and history, preserving its original identity while preparing it for many more years of use.

There's nothing more rewarding than when a client comes back for another bespoke piece.

After previously crafting two bespoke dining chairs, we were delighted to be asked to create two matching bar stools, designed to complement the existing furniture perfectly. Every detail was carefully considered – from the proportions and comfort to the upholstery finish – ensuring a seamless look throughout the space.

A project we're incredibly proud to have been part of.

This bespoke organic banquette seating was commissioned by an interior designer for a restaurant project in Iceland.

Featuring flowing organic curves, sculpted backrests and beautifully tailored vertical pleating, this installation measures over 6 × 7 metres and was handcrafted to meet the designer's exact vision.

Although the restaurant is still under construction, so we can't yet share the finished interior, we wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship that goes into projects of this scale.

From design collaboration and manufacturing to international transport and on-site installation, every stage of the project was completed smoothly and exactly as planned. It was a pleasure to be trusted with such a unique commission.

Another Bespoke Project Completed by Prestige Works Upholstery

Every piece we create is built around our client's lifestyle, not just their space.

For this bespoke sofa, the client wanted something that would serve as both a stylish everyday sofa and a comfortable guest bed.

🔹 The seat was made deeper than standard, creating enough space for someone to sleep comfortably once the back cushions are removed.

🔹 We also adjusted the foam specification to provide the perfect balance of support for sitting and comfort for sleeping.

🔹 Although the seat has the appearance of two separate cushions, it is actually one fixed upholstered seat. This bespoke solution prevents cushions from moving or separating during use, while the carefully designed piping creates the elegant look of individual seat cushions.

🔹 The back cushions remain removable, making the transformation from sofa to sleeping space quick and effortless.

Every detail was designed around our client's exact requirements—from dimensions and comfort to functionality and finishing.

This bespoke garden bench cushion was handcrafted to our client's exact measurements and preferences, ensuring a perfect fit and exceptional comfort.

Made with 4-inch high-quality foam, it provides excellent support while remaining incredibly comfortable. The cushion is fully removable, allowing it to be easily stored indoors whenever the weather changes, helping to keep it looking its best for years to come.

We visited the client to take precise on-site measurements, ensuring the sofa fit the space perfectly. Every detail was tailored to their vision, including the overall design, dimensions, seat height, seating depth, comfort and finishing touches.

A pair of bespoke armchairs recently completed in our workshop for a hospitality project.

The client wanted to preserve the original character of the chairs, which meant sourcing a very specific fabric to achieve the closest possible match.
After an extensive search, we selected the Houndstooth Jacquard Cotton from Italy, chosen for its texture, pattern and authenticity to the original design.
The arms were upholstered in Plain Cowhide Upholstery Leather in Mocha Mousse, a premium Italian full-grain leather, creating a beautiful contrast while maintaining a refined and timeless appearance.

Projects like this are all about the details. From material sourcing to the final stitch, every element was carefully considered to achieve the right balance between heritage, comfort and durability.

We regularly collaborate with designers, contractors and commercial clients, producing bespoke furniture and upholstery for private residences, restaurants, hotels and exclusive members' clubs, including projects for Soho House.
