Something we do quite a lot of at Brazier Building Solutions is fibreglass flat roofing, and it's an area where we take a lot of pride in the way we work.

We tend to do things a little differently when it comes to our fibreglass roofs.

We use a much heavier fibreglass system than you'd typically find on a standard installation, applying three coats to give the roof a thicker, stronger finish.

Now, this does mean we use considerably more materials, sometimes up to three times as much, so we're not always the cheapest option when quoting for a job.

But there's a good reason for that.

We'd much rather spend that bit extra on materials and take the time to get everything right than cut corners on something as important as your roof.

When installed properly, fibreglass roofing is incredibly durable, fully waterproof and designed to last for many years.

For us, it's about giving our customers a roof they know has been done properly, without having to worry about replacing it again anytime soon.

There is plenty happening behind the scenes at Violet’s Barn as we prepare this 400 year old building for the next stage of its renovation.

Our current focus is creating a beautifully finished bathroom, with a separate entrance area, a basin and dedicated storage and airing cupboard space.

Before we reach the fitting and finishing stages, there is a substantial amount of preparation to get right. We have removed the existing ceilings, laid new flooring and strengthened the floor structure to address movement and flexing.

We have also temporarily relocated the hot water cylinder, keeping it connected while we construct the new layout. Once the space is ready, we will move it back into its permanent position within the planned airing cupboard.

This work follows the structural improvements we completed a few months ago, along with the earlier installation of a new roof and Velux roof windows. Each stage forms part of the wider renovation, bringing the spaces together while working with the character and practical challenges of an old building.

The project also includes reinstating a second bathroom in the area where we removed the original one. We are phasing the wider works, with the main bathroom area forming the focus of the current stage.

Alongside the bathroom installation, we will carry out the electrical work, plumbing, new ceilings, plastering, decorating and carpeting. There is still plenty to do, but these progress photos give you a closer look at the work that goes into preparing the space before the finished surfaces appear.

With a building of this age, the quality of the finished rooms depends on careful work beneath them. Getting the structure, services and layout right now gives us the foundations for a bathroom that looks beautiful and works well for everyday use.

Our renovation of this Victorian cottage on Hayes Lane in Slinfold is complete.

We reworked the entire ground floor to create a better connection between the kitchen and dining areas. A new structural opening transformed the layout, while rebuilding sections of the original floor allowed us to bring the rooms onto one consistent level.

The work also included a new kitchen, a downstairs WC and cloakroom, updated plumbing and electrics, new windows and doors, and finishes throughout.

Much of the work behind the finished rooms will never be seen. Addressing the original floor and addressed the poorly installed underfloor heating were essential to getting the result right.

From the initial planning through to the final finishes, we managed the trades and the schedule in house.
We’re proud to share the completed space.
