Getting the detail right is what decides whether a heat pump performs well in winter. Undersized emitters and rushed pipework are why some people hear heat pumps "don't work". Installed properly, they do.

Knowledge and communication turn up in our reviews more than anything else, and we think that is the right pairing.

Heat pumps are not a like for like boiler swap. The design decisions made before anything is fitted, the sizing, the flow temperature, whether your existing radiators can cope, are what determine whether the system runs well and runs cheaply for the next twenty years. Getting that right takes someone who knows the technology properly. Explaining it in plain English so you can make your own decision is the other half of the job.

The £9,000 figure applies to homes off the gas grid heated by oil or LPG. Every other eligible home in England and Wales can claim £7,500 through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

Either way, the grant only comes through an MCS certified installer, and it only makes sense if your property is right for it. Insulation, space, radiators, hot water: we look at all of it properly before we quote.

If a heat pump is not the right answer for your home, we will say so.

This one matters to us because it names the two things we actually try to get right: the standard of the installation itself, and keeping the customer informed while it happens. A heat pump install is not a quick job. It involves your heating system, your hot water and in some cases your radiators, so how you are treated during the week the van is outside counts for a lot.
